First login error
by Paul Yachnes 19 Mar '09

I have installed Koha 3.00.01 on Ubuntu 8.04 following the directions in the Wiki. On my first login, I get: Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 666. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Circulation.pm line 25. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Circulation.pm line 25. I thought it might be a problem with privileges and checking the koha database in phpmyadmin I saw that none of the privileges had been set for user kohaadmin, so I set all global and database specific privileges, but I still get the same error. Can anyone suggest what my next step should be? Thanks. Paul Yachnes

Good Morning All Has anyone come across an issue when you import your Follett catalog export in Koha 3 a large number of your holdings info doesn't get imported? I double checked Follett and the info is there and there is a bibliography record in Koha just no entry in the items table. Any ideas? Koha Debian package
by H.S. 18 Mar '09

18 Mar '09

Hello, Just wondering if a Koha Debian package is being worked on? I believe that once that is available, proliferation of Koha installations will balloon. I have installed it a few times, but difficulty in installing it for a person not familiar with system administration is probably the leading cause that more are not trying it out. At the same time, I realize that Koha is being under development for quite some and there still is no Debian package. Any particular reason for this? Are the various new perl modules needed which are not in Debian repos a big reason? Or is it just the want of developers doing the task? I hope the commercial aspect of Koha is not an impediment to this. Thanks. -- Please reply to this list only. I read this list on its corresponding newsgroup on gmane.org. Printing Spine and Book or Circulation Card Labels
by Nora Blake 18 Mar '09

18 Mar '09

Greetings. Has anyone had success creating a label template that will allow BOTH spine and book or circulation card labels to be printed together out of Koha 3.01? It seems like Koha can only print the spine label or the book/circulation card label as separate functions, not both together. If you have had success printing both types of labels at the same time, would you be willing to share your template settings with me as well as information on the label stock you are using? Lost indexing
by Lenora Oftedahl 18 Mar '09

18 Mar '09

Ok. I've been having some trouble with indexing on my production server. The public server is indexed fine and finds everything. The production server will only find what was loaded at the initial load. New stuff and changes to records are there, but not found or recognized. Now, we've lost even the initial load. All searches come back as Nothing Found. Could someone please tell me where the indexing is located? Is it part of the Koha table structure? Or is the information stored in a different file? Thanx. Collection Analysis via Titlewave (Follett)
by Scott Owen 18 Mar '09

18 Mar '09

Hi all, One of my Media People would like to run our collection (at her location) through a collection analysis via a process/program called Titlewave (by Follett). http://www.titlewave.com As their web site states: __________________________________________________ Before you can submit your collection for analysis, you need to export your MARC records from your circulation system with the holdings tag and copy information included. If you’re not sure how to do this, instructions are included in your circulation system’s help section or you can select your circulation system in the pull-down menu below and click the Instructions button. (Please export your MARC records onto your computer and save them as one file.) __________________________________________________ So....my question, does the koha.mrc file created form a MARC record export include the holdings tag and copy information?? If not, is there a way for me to produce this info ? I am using koha 2.2.9 on Win32. Thanks for any advice, -Scott Owen Alma Public Schools

Issue with the Issues Table
by Shar Shar 18 Mar '09

18 Mar '09

I have a problem charging items to patrons. While the items table is updated properly when items are checkedout, the issues table is not affected. It seems to be a foreign key issue. This is on Koha 3.0.1. Here is the error message: [error] [client 99.87.456.1] [Tue Mar 17 22:39:58 2009] circulation.pl: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`koha/issues`, CONSTRAINT `issues_ibfk_2` FOREIGN KEY (`itemnumber`) REFERENCES `items~` (`itemnumber`) ON DELETE SET NULL ON UPDATE SET NULL) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Circulation.pm line 967., referer: http://mysite.blabla.org:8080/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl Has anybody encountered this? Is it a bug? Thanks. Shar
