How do I add new item type icons to my selection in Koha 3.0.1? In Koha 3.0, all I had to do was add a new folder of icons to the itemtypeimg folder and they would show up under a separate section on the Add Item Type and Modify Item Type pages. In 3.0.1 where there is a separate tab on these pages for each folder of icons, no tab appears for my new folder. What else do I need to do? Thanks.

Hello Nelson,
[see question 1 below]
what you need is analytical cataloging. It's quite simple. Use 1XX and 245 as usual for author and title of the article. The information about the serial is recorded in the field 773 - Host Item Entry (http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd773.html). You can add subject headings as usual in 650.
Does this mean I would first catalogue the serial as an item, then I would catalogue each article separately, as an additional item in our catalogue, and reference the serial using 773? ?So, a serial with 10 articles would result in 11 items in the ILS, both with subject and keywords?
This way when a patron searches, both the serial and the specific article within that serial edition would be found? ?The patron would then have to figure out that the two are connected.
Thanks, Nelson

De: Nelson Fredsell <nelson@cfce.org.za> Asunto: [Koha] Cataloguing articles within serials Para: "Koha list" <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz> Fecha: martes, 17 de marzo de 2009, 5:29 am Dear all,
1) ? ? ?We would like to catalogue individual articles/chapters within some of our serials/journals/periodicals. ?I understand that using MARC 5xx or 6xx is a preferred method. ? I've been unable to find examples of this on the liblime demos thus far, and would like to see how this works both from an administrator's standpoint and from a patron's.
2) ? ? ?After seeing an article, I'd also love to be able to Search for this article to see whether I could find it in the catalogue, alongside books.
3) ? ? ?I'd like for patron searches to include books, serials and articles within serials, *within a single search of keyword, subject and title*. ?I'd perhaps like this to be the default search, rather than an Advanced Search. Is Koha configurable in this way (without lots and lots of effort)?
Could anyone point me to an example or two, especially relating to point 1?
(We're a small NGO/non-profit in the field of independent education.)
Thanks!
