Re: [Koha] Migrating data from phpmylibrary to Koha

Melanie, It sounds like you didn't get your holdings data in the 952 record. That is where koha looks for that info. - Doug >>> Melanie Saldua <reilied00(a)gmail.com> 4/30/2009 3:08 AM >>> Thanks for all the help! I can now import marc records. Only thing is when I import, the website (OPAC) shows no holdings. I guess I have to manually add the holdings. Anyway, thank you again. :) On Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 1:56 AM, Doug Dearden <dearden(a)sarsf.org> wrote: > Melanie, > > Download and install MarcEdit. SQL library: fast growth
by Lenora Oftedahl 30 Apr '09

30 Apr '09

Ok. I just changed the SQL library so the one table has been divided between topics suggested by Sharon Moreland. I moved around the reports and added a wishlist area. I'll keep track of these and move them as SQL language is added. That was fast growth. Thanx for all your participation. Thanks Sharon, Lenora and all. I added a couple of our more interesting reports to the list and loaded in several wishes too! Getting administrative reports that group all the branches together is a big goal for me. I can't write and run separate reports for 90 sites! Thanks again. If you leave the SQL column blank and put in the notes that this is a wish for the future, I think that would work. >>> Sharon Moreland <smoreland(a)nekls.org> 04/30/09 8:15 AM >>> I was fuzzy on which 'module' the reports I added this morning belong to, so I sort of guessed that: "FROM items" had to do with the Catalog and "FROM borrowers" sometimes went to Circulation and other times just into Patrons On the NExpress Reports<http://www.nexpresslibrary.org/training/reports-training/>page, I have the statements grouped by use => Bibliographic/Catalog maintenance, statistical reports, and patron-related reports Also, can we include on that SQL library wiki page a 'wish list' of reports we'd like to have but don't? Help Needed
by Imran Mohamed 30 Apr '09

30 Apr '09

Hello Everybody, A pleasant good day to you. My name is Imran Mohamed from the University of Guyana and I am a part of the team that is currently customizing Koha ILS v3. We are almost through setting up the relevant frameworks and customizing the software. However, we are experiencing some problems in one of the framework. The error is encountered when adding a MARC record and is as follows: Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Tag "" is not a valid tag. at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2534 Apache Server version: Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) Server built: Jan 20 2009 17:29:25 Koha 3.00.00.107 Koha DB 3.0000107 MySQL mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.32, for pc-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 5.2 OS Linux canaan 2.6.18-6-k7 #1 SMP Tue Jun 17 22:06:22 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Perl 5.008008 Another problem we are encountering is when a book is overdue, the fines are not calculated although the book is showing up as overdue. All of the fine rules were already set up. Also, seeing that we are almost finished customizing, we would like to know what is the best way to enter records into the system. Would it be best manually, one by one or use the Library of Congress database. Please advise us as soon as possible. Thank you. SQL repository?
by Lenora Oftedahl 30 Apr '09

30 Apr '09

Hello all. I haven't seen an announcement, but there was talk at the Koha Conference that a SQL repository would be developed so we could post our most excellent SQL reports and wouldn't all have to write the same report request over and over. Has there been progress on this? Thanx. Lenora StreamNet Regional Librarian Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission

Searching
by Melanie Saldua 30 Apr '09

30 Apr '09

Hello, I have another question. When I search in my koha opac let's say "algo" there's no result but when I typed in "algorithms" there's some result. So that means I need to typed in the whole words I need to search in order to have results. Is it because I'm using nozebra? How do you turn on and configure zebra anyway? I'm using koha 3. Thanks

Default Matching Rules
by Melanie Saldua 30 Apr '09

30 Apr '09

Hello, I'm trying to import Marc records into koha using KOHA's GUI tools. I've completed an import but the data doesn't show in catalogue. There's still 0 records. Then I've found that I'm having a problem with the matching rules. I found out that there's no default matching rules in may installation of koha. Did I do something wrong with the installation that I can't see the default matching rules? Can anyone provide the info for the default matching rules? Thanks
