KohaCon 2009 development meeting

Hi, A few logistical details for the developers meeting after KohaCon 2009. Location: The Board Room at the Holiday Inn Express North Plano (i.e., the conference hotel) Date: We have the room all day Saturday and Sunday, 4/18 & 4/19. Start time: 08:00 CDT (13:00 UTC) - note that that this is not a firm start time as much simply the earliest I'll be there to make sure that the room is unlocked. End time: Whenever the caffeine runs out. The hotel is being very flexible, although if we start running into the late evening, we should probably decamp to a private hotel room out of courtesy to the staff and guests in adjoining rooms. Agenda: There's no set agenda; in the best unconference tradition we'll decide on the agenda as we go along. That said, there are some topics and requests that I know of: * overview of the Koha codebase for new contributors * Git tutorial * 3.0 and 3.2 status and planning * discussing ideas for architectural and programming improvements for 3.2 and later * hackfest Communications: I will summarize the meetings in postings to the koha and koha-devel mailing lists. For blogs, Twitter, Flickr, etc., let's use the tag kohacon09. There's no videoconference equipment, of course, but we can try using Skype, Jabber, or #koha if someone who is unable attend in person would like to participate. Thanks to David Schuster and the rest of the KohaCon committee for doing a wonderful job of organizing the conference, and thanks to the Holiday Inn for giving us use of the room (and coffee and tea!) gratis. Report for new acquisitions

There doesn't seem to be a built-in report for Koha 3.0 that finds items added to the catalog after/ before a given date, or between two dates, & I'm not familiar with SQL syntax. Is this something that can be done with the Reports utility? Specifically, we'd like to use the dates in 952 $d ("Date acquired") to generate reports on our latest new materials (just author & title in most cases). I presume this would be fairly simple if we were using the Acquisitions module, but we're not going that route, at least for the moment, because of the extra time involved. Test Result OK itemnum : the field itemnumber is mapped to a field in tab -1 OK All item fields are in the same tag and in item tab OK Only 1 marc tag mapped to items OK itemtypes table filled with at least 1 value OK biblioitems.itemtype defined OK branch table filled with at least 1 value OK homebranch defined OK holdingbranch defined biblio and biblionumber The biblio.biblionumber and biblioitems.biblioitemnumber fields MUST : # be mapped to a MARC subfield, # be in tab -1 OK no NULL value in frameworkcode TOTAL You have 1 error(s) in your MARC configuration. koha fees and handling centage

Anyone know how koha handles fees. My boss needs me to edit it so students can turn in .10 cents or .20 cents as a fee payment. Who pays .x cents for book fees at a time, only elementary and middle school kids . If anyone has an idea or where to look to fix this it would help and save a lot of time.
