Hello, One thing i've found useful when migrating data is to do a full manual cataloging of a sample biblio/item in the koha, then search for this record in OPAC and save as a marc record. I then use marcedit on this record to see koha marc tags and use that as a reference when mapping from other ILS or excel. Very difficult in placing holds in which the items are cataloged under the series title - ie $aBONE $bDeath wish or whatever the remainder is or if it is in the p and you can't see it. I believe this will open up opportunities for future customizations as well. I hope the information will display both on the listing of titles page and the individual bib screen.(don't have the spec yet on this...) If yes, the problem is the way you insert values into 001 of Auth an in 100$9 of Biblio. The script bulkauthimport.pl doesn't use the values in 001 in the import. I read the code and bulkauthimport.pl (and the related funcitons in C4) inserts an incremental values in 001 during the import. So the first record receive the value 1, the second the value 2, etc. So you need to insert values in 001 using incrematal values (1,2,3,4,5, etc.) and with incremental order in the import file for Auth. Has anyone migrated Alice for Windows to Koha? Alice for Windows hasn't been working right in our school for while and I'm looking to change to Koha. However I haven't been able to get the exported MARC file to import. Unfortunately I don't know much about MARC but basically what I've done is the following. 1. Used the Alice for Windows 'Export to MARC' function to dump a MARC 21 .dat file 2. Set up the environment variables for bulkmarcimport.pl 3. Run bulkmarcimport.pl to import the data which returned that 21000 odd items were imported 4. Found there were no more items in the database than before. 5. Tried uploading it to import through the 'reservior' method and it gave me a report that there were the same number of records but that there were MARC errors on each one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
