Dear Friends, I tried installation of Koha 3.03 on Ubuntu Hardy (8.04). I tried perl Makefile.PL command and first step was successful. I selected Zebra in this step. After executing make command, I got following error. /usr/bin/perl "-Iblib/arch" "-Iblib/lib" fix-perl-path.PL blib /usr/bin/perl "-Iblib/arch" "-Iblib/lib" rewrite-config.PL blib/ZEBRA_CONF_DIR/etc/passwd Can't open blib/ZEBRA_CONF_DIR/etc/passwd for read at rewrite-config.PL line 172. make: *** [blib/ZEBRA_CONF_DIR/etc/passwd] Error 2 Installation was successful when I installed Koha without selecting Zebra. I request your help to solve this error. -- Vimal Kumar V. Asst. Hi Elshan This is not related to the user you are logged in as. It is confusing as the table name suggests that it is a user permission, but it seems to be an overall permission for any user to access each of the contents of the Tools page. Re: [Koha] [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] personal post to Evergreen community

Steve (and all), I support this idea and if there's a way I can be of assistance, let's talk. I think getting a ball like this rolling would have to come from someone like us - people who are not actively involved in just one of the products but who sees the importance of both products/projects succeeding. Dear all, Can anyone tell me why I can't add default values in the subfields of MARC authority? Are there no advanced subfields constraints in Authorities? Liblime Enterprise Koha
by Bob Birchall ＠ Calyx 14 Sep '09

14 Sep '09

Joshua, I have noticed the announcement on the Liblime website of Liblime Enterprise Koha. You state that this incorporates two years of completed development. By offering software as a service only, you are not obliged to release the code under the GPL but you intend to do so 'periodically'. Of course, the community-developed Koha software will continue to evolve and it is technically very uncertain that code released occasionally will be able to be reintegrated with that of the main project. Do you agree that this is a fork in the development of Koha? Aren't you also foregoing benefits of open-source development: shared resources and the scrutiny of a world wide community? Mightn't you encounter the resource constraints and priority conflicts of closed source vendors? We have not heard from you on this list for a considerable time. If you have left the Koha community, this is a great disappointment to those of us who have appreciated your substantial contributions in recent years. Your exit misses a key opportunity for developing a sustainable Koha software foundation and leaving the library community a better legacy. Please clarify your ongoing role in this community. Sincere regards, Bob Birchall Calyx
