by Carmel Young 11 Nov '09

11 Nov '09

Using Koha 3.00.03 - installed via off-line method. Now have (slightly) better Internet service and we are trying to use the Z39.50 function. Have configured the computer for Internet (static IP) and can connect to internet. Have edited IP address in /etc/apache2/sites-available/koha. BUT Z39.50 fails to connect. Is there something else we need to do??? Carmel Young Malawi **

problem rebuilding Multiple database at once
by nitesh rijal 11 Nov '09

11 Nov '09

Hi all, I' using KOHA 3.0.3 and I'm hosting 10 databases using multiple zebra servers in it. Whenever I rebuild my zebra index I need to do the following: #mysql -u root -p******** -e "use koha0" #export KOHA_CONF=/etc/koha/koha0-conf.xml #./rebuild_zebra -b -r -w Again for another database I need to repeat the same process and just change the koha0 to koha1 and so on. If I dont do this then the rebuild is only done in the default KOHA installation. I have tried with other options like "-a", "-z" and "-x" but none give the required result. Is there an easier way to do this thing done??? Please Help. -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT http://niteshrijal.com.np +9779841458173

bulkmarcimport error
by Amy Schuler 11 Nov '09

11 Nov '09

Hello, Recently, I finally ran Bulkmarcimport.pl to import a batch of my MARC records into my newly installed Koha 3.0001005. Here is the error message I received: unable to locate Koha configuration file koha-conf.xml at /etc/perl/C4/Context.pm line 312. unable to locate Koha configuration file koha-conf.xml at /etc/perl/C4/Context.pm line 312. unable to locate Koha configuration file koha-conf.xml at /etc/perl/C4/Context.pm line 312. unable to locate Koha configuration file koha-conf.xml at /etc/perl/C4/Context.pm line 312. Can't call method "config" on unblessed reference at /etc/perl/C4/Context.pm line 654. Compilation failed in require at /etc/perl/C4/Items.pm line 30. Compilation failed in require at kohaclone/misc/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl line 24. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at kohaclone/misc/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl line 24. I googled this error, and in a Koha listserve archive I read that I should export PERL5LIB=/home/koha/kohaclone. I checked with my IT guy about this, and he told me that PERL5LIB path is already set to /home/koha/kohaclone. Neither one of us has any other ideas. Do you? Thanks again to all of you who have provided advice & assistance over the past few months. I truly appreciate it and hope that I will be able to repay the debt someday by helping other new users of Koha... Amy Amy C. Correct SQL for getting count of active borrowers
by Lola McKee 11 Nov '09

11 Nov '09

Can someone tell me the correct SQL to get a count of active borrowers? Do I need to pull from issues or old_issues and what is the differences and or reasoning. We used the SQL from Koha SQL Reports Library "List Active Patrons by Category for a Specific Month" Code = SELECT YEAR(issuedate), MONTH(issuedate), categorycode, COUNT(DISTINCT borrowernumber) FROM old_issues LEFT JOIN borrowers USING (borrowernumber) GROUP BY YEAR(issuedate), MONTH(issuedate), categorycode Also do we want to use DISTINCT borrowernumber or just borrowernumber?
