I am using Koha 3.01 on SUSE 11.0 using Nozebra. I have been using the server for quite some time and it is working well just suddely start this strange behaviour the harddisk light will be on and the server will not serve any page, until the system is shut down and start again. Upgrading 3.01 to 3.04 - make test failed

Question about Migration of data to Koha

Hello, We just purchased Koha Express, and I am trying to discover the best way of migrating our 6,000 records from a program called LiBRARYSOFT to Koha. I wanted to describe the steps I've been taking and ask if this is the best possible way to go. I'd also very much like to see examples of a file that has been uploaded successful from another program to Koha. What did it look like? LiBRARYSOFT's MARC-record report looks like this (except it is much longer). The fields are tab delimited. Git and Koha v3.0.4

I am trying to use git to update an install on a development box before we go to the production server. Today I started a directory for the koha clone on my development box. The directory is kohaclonetest When I use git to download a clone I end up with version 3.00.01.061. I have one branch called master. I then issue the command: git checkout -b stable304 v3.00.04 I am now in branch stable304 I issue the following commands: perl Makefile.PL --prev-install-log /usr/share/koha/misc/koha-install-log make make test make upgrade So far, so good. Now we should be required to update the koha database. When we navigate to http://localhost:8080 <http://localhost:8080/> we are presented with the regular login screen, no required database updates. 773 and 774 fields not displaying in ISBD

Hello I'm in the process of testing Koha to see if it will work for our small and very quirky library. We have always catalogued things like individual papers in conference proceedings and articles in serials so we have a non-MARC database chock full of analytical entries that we don't want to loose in the conversion. I understand where they need to go in MARC 21 - fields 773 and 774 are going to get a lot of use. However, try as I might I can't get these fields to display in the ISBD view (or the normal view for that matter). I have gone into the MARC structure and edited the subfield constraints (to 'hidden 0'), so they show up in cataloguing mode. But I can't seem to get them to show outside of the MARC view. I was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to do a detailed 505 if I could just list all the authors and paper titles in 774. But if it won't display, it's not much use to the end user.
