koha 3.0.4 not "status" showing in opac
by Bob Birchall ＠ Calyx 16 Dec '09

16 Dec '09

Sorry for cross-posting. I want to bring this across to the general list. I am seeing the same problem as Zico. It is in a 3.0.4 instance with a data base that was upgraded from Koha 2.2.9. The 'status' field in the opac-detail page is blank. The status displays correctly in the detail page of the staff client. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bob ________________________________________ From: koha-devel-bounces(a)lists.koha.org [mailto:koha-devel-bounces@lists.koha.org] On Behalf Of Zico Sent: Monday, 14 December 2009 11:41 PM To: koha-devel(a)lists.koha.org Subject: [Koha-devel] koha 3.0.4 not "status" showing in opac Hi, my koha 3.0.4 opac is not showing the "status" for any books/disks. In my previous koha-3.0.1, this status showed "available" or "not available" by default. But, here in koha-3.0.4 is showing no status. Help needed in Label Creator
by nitesh rijal 16 Dec '09

16 Dec '09

Hello all. I'm using KOHA 3.0.3 in Debian Lenny. I have currently tried to set up the label creator for books and patrons. I started creating the labels but ran into a small problem. Generating labels for books is going good, but I'm facing problems in generating labels for patrons. I can generate visible label only when I select the Print Type as "Patron Cards", but this layout gives homebranch, patron type and patron barcode. The thing that annoys me is that I only want the patron barcode nothing else. I have tried to use "only barcodes" type and also assigned barcode field in the text field type but it generates blank pdfs. The only way I can get patron label pdf is by selecting the patron cards type. I tried to look at the documentaion but it doesn't explain about the "patron cards" type. I just want to remove the homebranch library name and parton type from the output generated by "patron cards" type. Please Help. Re: [Koha] Batch imports of MARC records for e-books and 099 fields for regular books
by Stacy Pober 16 Dec '09

16 Dec '09

Thank you so much for the help. I had a little bumpy patch figuring out MarcEdit (I haven't had to really look at cataloging record structure in detail since library school). It finally worked when I added: 952$o Electronic Book and 942$c EBOOKS in addition to the fields Tajoli suggested. It could be that one of those was unnecessary, but since it finally looked right, I was disinclined to do more testing at that point. It's now almost exactly right. There's just one little thing left. Each book I added has an empty parentheses at the end of the Availability section of the display. I'm told this is the # of copies available. I looked at some of our records for ebooks that were migrated from Voyager, and also looked at some other Koha libraries that had ebooks, but I was unable to figure out what field controlled the contents of those parenthesis. Either the parenthesis should have the numeral 1 in them, or they shouldn't appear at all for e-book records. So can someone either tell me what MARC field/subfield controls the contents of those parenthesis, or else how to suppress the parentheses entirely when displaying ebooks in search results. Example of search results with empty parentheses: <http://man.waldo.kohalibrary.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=gale+virtual> or <http://bit.ly/5i7itX> [If you send your reply to the list, please cc: <stacy.pober(a)manhattan.edu> as I am on digest.] Advance thanks, Stacy On Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 5:27 AM, tajoli <tajoli(a)cilea.it> wrote: > Dear Stacy, > > On Tue, 8 Dec 2009 04:51:42 -0500, Stacy Pober <stacy.pober(a)manhattan.edu> > wrote: > >> Is thers some shortcut to change all of an incoming batch of MARC-21 >> records to have the same holdings information? LDAP integration question
by Bryan Lakatos 15 Dec '09

15 Dec '09

Greetings all - I'm the Dir. of Tech at a small indie school in Dayton, OH and we're moving our library catalogs to Koha from an old Spectrum system. I'm a HUGE supporter of Open Source, and I am stoked that Koha exists! I'm almost ready to roll it out, but I've got one hiccup: I've got my Koha talking to my LDAP, and everything is working except for the fact that the "firstname" attribute isn't being integrated from the LDAP to the Koha database. I'm pretty sure I've got the mapping right, as I can do an "ldapsearch" from the CLI, and find the right info. Here's the pertinent section from my config file: <useldapserver>1</useldapserver> <ldapserver id="server1" listenref="server1"> <hostname>ldap.mvschool.com</hostname> <base>o=mvs</base> <replicate>1</replicate> <update>1</update> <auth_by_bind>0</auth_by_bind> <mapping> <userid is="cn" ></userid> <firstname is="givenname" ></firstname> <surname is="sn" ></surname> <address is="mail" >NA</address> <city is="l" >Dayton</city> <branchcode is="ou" >OhDaMVS</branchcode> <categorycode is="facsimileTelephoneNumber" >PT</categorycode> </mapping> </ldapserver> I think there must be something I'm missing. All the other bits of info being integrated correctly were the default-ly required ones. I added "firstname" to the <mapping> section, thinking it would just grab it naturally on the next log in, but I guess this is not the case. I've also changed the entry for "firstname" in the mysql db to "not null" in the hopes that it grabbed the attributes it had to based on that qualification, but that hasn't helped either. I've googled around, but either I'm not asking the question correctly, or no one has had this problem before. ;) Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks! P.S. I sent this same question a minute ago, but when it came back to me it was missing parts. Odd. Hopefully this one will not do the same; please forgive this duplicate question. -- Bryan A.
