I had the same issue so it was easy for me to answer :). Basically the patch does nothing but adding one statement to opac-details.tmpl. So you can also do it manually. Just open the file (opac-details.tmpl) in an editor, go to line 295. There should be something like "Checked out" (if you have the English template). Right after it add a new line with:  Save and close the file and try it again. Wide character in null operation after Z3950 import

Hi all, We have a Koha/3.00.04_fixed installation in the French language. When we search for a word like "père" in the catalogue, the browser submits the accented e correctly and the search succeeds. Then we attempt to import a biblio record using Z3950 into the catalogue that contains the word "père" we see the following error message: The following fatal error has occurred:Wide character in null operation at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/MARC/Charset/Table.pm line 96. So, I cannot put this down to incorrect URF-8 character encoding in either the web server or the client's browser. quick question re: bulkmarcimport

Hello, As ever, I am struggling with the migration of my marc data. Yet, I persist. I am trying bulkmarcimport for the, oh, fortieth time... and it seems it wants an XML file, not my marc (.mrc) file. Does this sound right? I thought I would ask before I risk messing up the database. I used MarcEdit to convert my .mrc file to Marc21XML. I am running Koha 3.0. Thanks so much, Amy Amy C. upgrade 2.2.5 to 3.0.4 difficulties

Hi all, I'm having troubles upgrading our koha 2.2.5 to 3.0.4. I'll describe what I have done so far, and really hope someone here can help me out. So far I have: - installed a new debian machine - installed latest koha on it, nozebra. Everything seems to work well so far. Then, to migrate our database: - create mysqldatadump on the old machine - imported mysqldatadump on new machine, using a DIFFERENT databasename - adjusted /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml to use the new database settings - followed instructions from the wiki to upgrade from 22 to 30 (http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=22_to_30) starting from "Koha datas to update and/or add" (=the database upgrading) Here I had to take all extra steps to succeed, such as: Solving the " Multiple primary key defined" error, solving the "used table type doesn't support FULLTEXT indexes", solving the "Duplicate entry 'XXXX' for key 1". I followed all instructions on the wiki to solve these issues. However, my librarian noticed that we are missing certain data in out database: the serial history and borrower history is not there. So my questions: - is there a better way to import the 2.2.5 data into 3.0.4, or is the way I described above *the* way? - is it possible to import the borrower / serials history as well? - I had to take all possible extra wiki steps to solve errors I encountered. Are there things I can do in my old (still running) installation, so make the transition smoother..? (extra database checks? add stuff to the database there, whatever..?) when I run this command ' sudo -u koha zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml' It show the following error. how can I fix it sudo -u koha zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml sudo: no passwd entry for koha! plz help in this regard

Question about OpacPrivacy

Hello all, Liz Rea and I were looking at the newest version of HEAD and see the system preference for OpacPrivacy, but turning it on doesn't seem to do anything. I did some searching through the patches and only see the patch where the preference was added - but can't find anything else. Can someone tell us how this is supposed to work? Thanks Nicole

Good Day Everyone, I hope someone can help me with this, it is an urgent matter. Using KOHA 3.0 The following is an example of what I hope to achieve. I went into Administration -> Circulation and Fine Rules --> Selected "Home Library" Created a a rule * Staff -- Books -- 5.00 dollars -- 1 day(s) Fine Changing Interval -- 5 Checkouts Allowed -- [[[[[1 Day Loan Period]]]] <--Very important. * Now from this rule, I would assume IF a [staff] wants to checkout a [book], THEN the maximum loan period [DUE date} per given book is ONLY 1 day allowed. However, when I checkout to user [Susan] who is [Staff], an item of [Book] type, and specify a due date of [25 days example]. I get an OK and it checks out the book to [Susan] * What about the rule that I created? What is happening with it?? Is it not used? And where/how is it used exactly?* I need it to DISALLOW me to not checkout the book to this [Staff] user, for all item [Books} IF the date is more than 1 day. I hope someone understands what I mean? *I just want to know if koha does this, and if it does NOT, then what are the issuing rules for? Only for calculating Fines?? and the fines are calculated per [1day] in this case??? when I assigned [Susan] 23 days? * Kindly awaiting biting my nails :D Thanks,
