Field will NOT delete

Ok. I want to delete a field completely. I click on the Minus Sign next to the field and everything disappears. I click on SAVE and go to the Add Holdings page. When I click on the Marc tab, the field is listed with entries apparently made up by Koha. I've got all the subfields listed as 2 so I can see them. Nothing is in the fields and they all clear when I click on the Minus Sign. Koha 3.00.00.107 TIA Lenora A. "Place Hold" in OPAC

In the catalog viewed by patrons, some of our Koha records for electronic books display "Place Hold" in the Action category and some of them do not. See the following search results for an example: <http://man.waldo.kohalibrary.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=NETLIBRARY+d…> The MARC fields are different for these records as some were loaded recently and some were migrated from Voyager. The record for "Doing business in a digital world" is an example of a book that shows the "Place Hold" action, and for an example of a record that does not show the "Place Hold" as an available action, see: "Architectural issues of Web-enabled electronic business". Since we have no way for patrons to place holds on ebooks from Koha, it would be good if the records for ebooks didn't have this option displayed. Acq Module - What is a Planning Category?

Looking at the new acquisitions module I see a Planning Category on the budget form. When I click that item I see a list of all of the authorized values in my system... what exactly is a planning category and what should I want to put in there? Thanks Nicole

To me 'Budget Period' suggests a period of time rather than an amount. 'Period Budget' makes a lot of sense to me and more so than 'Root budget'. Bob Birchall Calyx

Premature end of script headers

Dear All, I have installed Koha without any error. But, when I open the site http://localhost, I get a quick message stating that Koha has been installed successfully, following which I get the following error message: Premature end of script headers: opac-main.pl I understand that this issue was dealt in the following thread: http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2003/006996.html and that the solution suggested is to give the web server permission to execute the Perl scripts ( http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2003/006997.html) 1. My question/doubt : How does one do this on Windows ? All that I could possibly think of was to remove the read-only attribute of C:\usr\koha228\opac\cgi-bin\koha, which contains opac-main.pl file. If so, I tried doing this, but for some reason, the read only attribute does not get removed. (I am the computer administrator) 2. If this issue has been answered elsewhere, please redirect me. I tried searching the Koha archives, and the links listed above were the ones I could find. 3. I also looked at : http://htmlfixit.com/cgi-tutes/tutorial_Common_Web_dev_error_messages_and_w…, but couldn't solve the problem. Searching for books with cell phones

I was looking at this article about Koha on Android<http://www.biblibre.com/content/koha-android?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medi…>(using a barcode reader <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcode_reader#Camera-Based_Readers>application). Some cell apps like Point & Find <http://pointandfind.nokia.com/> (for Nokia) or Snap & Tell <http://www.snaptell.com/> (for iPhone) can read any book cover or ISBN barcode and automatically search for it on Amazon and other stores (even I hear that also, if you have GPS, give you some address of stores where near you where you can buy it). I wonder if someone tried to add the URL of a Koha OPAC to the list of places where this apps search for books, or if exist an application to search which libraries (instead of stores) near my location<http://lists.koha.org/pipermail/koha-devel/2009-November/010390.html>have the searched material (or at least search on a given OPAC). koha 3.0.4 + holdings + "no physical items available"

Hi, in my new Koha 3.0.4 system which running under Debian 5.0; i am facing problem regarding holding issue. Say, i have 5 holdings for some book; now if i search for that book in OPAC; it shows me that, there are 5 holdings but *only one* physical item is showing there... others are showing that... "no physical items for this record"! How can i get rid of this? -- Best, Zico

budget language question

Hi all, We talked about this on #koha but never came to a conclusion (or if it did I missed it). In the new Acq 'Root Budgets' and 'Period Budget'/'Budget Period' mean the same thing. Which wording makes the most sense? I personally think that Budget Period makes more sense than Root Budget, but we need to decide which it is before 3.2 because they are used interchangeably throughout the system now and that will probably be confusing. On the budget add/edit for it says 'budget amount cannot both be empty' -- what does that mean? What 'both'? I'm thinking there is a word missing - 'budget amount and ? cannot both be empty' Thanks Nicole

New Acq Question

In the old acquisitions module if you clicked on the budget headers on the main acq page (spent, committed, etc) you could see what items made up that total. I see no way to see what items were purchased in a specific budget anymore. Is there a way? If not, should there be a way? Nicole
