Welcome, Alison, > We're interested in keeping > up with and contributing to the Koha community. That's what we love to hear! There are some things to consider, going forward: - According to LibLime's web site Koha Express customers are on "the official Koha Project release (currently 3.0.2)." The actual up-to-date version is 3.0.5 (and you can check http://koha-community.org/download-koha/ for accurate information on the latest release). Or maybe you're on the latest version and LibLime's web site is out of date? - As Chris pointed out, command line access is pretty much expected as an available tool for maintenance and debugging. I don't know but I assume that you don't have shell access with Koha Express. That will sometimes make it hard for the list to offer suggestions for certain kinds of problems. You'll have to bear with us and understand that we may not be able to offer you a solution because of that. Right now you'll also hear lots of talk about Koha 3.2 which just had an alpha release. It has lots of great improvements and many bug fixes, so may soon have to put up with "upgrade to 3.2!" as a response to some issues :) I hope your host has plans to roll out the 3.2 upgrade quickly following the stable release! Good luck! -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org

Blank line in spine label
by Daniel Grobani 09 Feb '10

09 Feb '10

Hi, We're a LibLime customer running LLEK, the latest version of which implemented Chris Nighswonger's quick spine label creator. LibLime is unable to provide support on this module, so I'm asking for help here. When I print a label for an item with a copy number, there's a blank line between the last line of the wrapped call number and the copy line. I'm surprised that blank lines aren't suppressed. Chris? Many thanks, Daniel Grobani System Administrator John A. Licensing on koha-community.org
by Liz Rea 08 Feb '10

08 Feb '10

Currently there is a generic copyright statement on the temporary site at koha-community.org. I am assuming we don't really want to go the route of having any individual entity copyrighting the content of the site. If any entity would hold the copyright I'd imagine it would be HLT on behalf of the community, but you all have been at this much longer than I have, so I wanted to get your suggestions. Does anyone have suggestions as to which license, and what wording, to put on the site to license its content in a FOSS-friendly manner? Discuss. ;) Liz Rea NEKLS

barcode label questions
by Laurie Henry 08 Feb '10

08 Feb '10

I've decided to order barcode labels for our items rather than print them out ourselves. The Brodart form asks some questions I'm not sure how to answer. Should we use a specific code (such as 2 or 3 or P or T) to identify a Patron or Item bar code? Does our circulation software use an "Assigned Library Number" unique to our library? Is a "Check Digit" required for our circulation software? If yes, what modulus are check digit (if known)? I'd appreciate any guidance/feedback on this. My impulse is to answer "No" to everything, but my impulses have been wrong before. Thank you.
