Removing duplicate bibs

Hi all, I just got done importing my bib records into Koha, but due to working on some issues with the holdings, I have now duplicated all the bibs in my database. In fact, I suspect that they may be triplicated, with at least one set of bibs not having holdings data. What I need to do now is figure out a way to remove the duplicates. Does anybody know how to do this? I would even be content to remove all the records and re-import, but I'm not sure how to go about doing a batch delete. Trying to import bibs with holdings

In Koha 3.0.02, I am trying to import a batch of bib records exported from a Voyager system. I want to include the holdings, but Voyager exports the holdings separate from the bib record. It appears that Koha doesn't work like that but looks for the holdings data in (I think) a 942 field in the bib record. Does anybody know of a way for me to move the data in from the 852 in the holding record into a 942 in the bib record? I've been tearing my hair out over this and thought that I had come up with a solution using sed, but can't figure out how to deal with multiple holdings. Duplicate records showing up after z39.50 import

Hi everyone, I'm using Koha Version 3.00.01.005 on Debian. We've been trying to re-catalogue some of our books. To do this, the cataloguer brings up the current record in the catalogue, deletes all items, then deletes the record. He then searches for the book through z39.50 and imports a new record. After making whatever changes are necessary, he saves the record, then adds an item. The problem we've had is that duplicate records with no attached items are sometimes (not always) showing up. These are not the old records stripped of items - they are duplicates of the new records from z39.50, always without items, and sometimes missing quite a few of the MARC fields (ex. in one case there were no fields above 3xx). I turned on the cataloguing log, and it looks like a duplicate record is being added just when the cataloguer adds a single new record: 2010-03-10 20:28:04 31 CATALOGUING DELETE biblio 6158 2010-03-10 20:33:12 31 CATALOGUING ADD biblio 6160 biblio 2010-03-10 20:33:12 31 CATALOGUING ADD biblio 6161 biblio Anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this? I seem to have found a way to make things work, but it's terribly labor intensive, so I hope there is a better way. When I click on a search result it gets me to the details for that item. I now click on barcode, which gets me to item details. Now I click on edit items, and after arriving on that page click immediately on save changes, without changing anything. Now I have 2 lines with items showing at the top of the page. I can delete the first one (which is wrong anyway), and after doing a rebuild_zebra -b -w it all shows up fine and working. As far as I know all the settings are correct. Everything else seems to work properly so far. Koha on a Solaris Box

Urgent Request - Duplicate Titles on the OPAC

Kindly help!!! I am using koha 3.0.1 on open suse 11.1 and nozebra. I noticed that koha is dupilcating titles on the OPAC search. The books under each duplicate are the same (same barcode and other marc field). I check the biblio table at the backend on the database (mysql) and find just one instance of the title. I also use the catalogue search I found that only one instance of the record. I rebuild the index by running the ./rebuild_nozebra in the migration_tools and the situation remain the same. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Barcode growing too fast when adding holdings

When adding holdings to marc-records the barcode Koha suggests is growing far too fast. In settings "autobarcode" is set to "incremental", but at the moment we're at 1529047567. We do not have 1.5 billion items at our library. It started acting up like this: 1524, 15257, 15283, 152847. inventory - use barcode file - not working

Under Tools | Inventory/Stocktaking we want to make a go of the option on the right of the screen: "Use a barcode file." http://www.[base url]/cgi-bin/koha/tools/inventory.pl 1) I haven't found documentation to state the format of the file, i.e. CSV, TXT (comma separated or TAB?). 2) I've tried one barcode for testing purposes, but have not been successful getting an updated Date Last Seen. When I click Submit, the screen flickers, the designated barcode.txt file disappears, and the date I've assigned also disappears. I pull up the biblio/item and no change has been made. Any suggestions? We're in 3.00.01.005.
