Duplicate Records Created When Importing Large Batch of Records into Koha
by Frances Sandeman 24 Mar '10

24 Mar '10

Hi, We thought we had successfully imported 2669 records into koha and had no problems bringing the records up when searching for them by title. Everything looked good, however while I was editing them I discovered half way through duplicates of each bib record. There is only one bib record but when I do a search on the title it brings up a duplicate record for each title. When we tried to un import to revert these staged records only the first 6 records reverted and the others remain imported. Does anyone know why this is happening and how we can fix this problem? Also how do we prevent duplicate copies in the future? 3.2 Install Patron Issues
by Joel Sasse 23 Mar '10

23 Mar '10

Hello, I've just installed koha 3.2-alpha on a Debian lenny server with zebra enabled. I selected the options for sample libraries and sample patron types to be installed when I ran the web installer. Now I've reached the Patron Types and Categories config section and cannot add a new patron category or edit an existing category, such as PT or ST. I can bring up the new or edit screen and fill in values, but once I click Save and return to the patron category main screen, nothing has changed. I am able to add new libraries and item types without a problem. I have done several test installs of 3.0 and this was never an issue. Is there something I've overlooked? Is there a MySQL error? Re: [Koha] PTFS Acquisition of LibLime Reactivated and Completed(Wagner, Jane)

Perhaps PTFS should just have an automatic redirect set up now for koha.org to point to koha-community.org Quick fix that sets the right tone. >>> Chris Nighswonger <cnighswonger(a)foundations.edu> 03/16/10 8:43 AM >>> Hi Jim, 2010/3/16 Jim Minges <jminges(a)nekls.org>: > Will koha-community.org/ continue, and which > site will in fact be regarded as the global community site? It was with much regret that the community elected to take the action of moving to koha-community.org. The move was long delayed with the hope that koha.org would "come home" so to speak. This, unfortunately, did not happen. As the community cannot expect to be held in any respect if it consistently changes, that decision is not up for reconsideration as I understand it. We have now gotten beyond the issue of the website, and assets, and are moving forward: necessary actions in order to maintain the health of the community. So from the point of its inception forward, koha-community.org should be considered *the* authoritative site for the Koha community. Regarding koha.org and other assets held by others than the community appointed custodians: time will tell what the ultimate status will be. Should, at some point in the future, these assets be offered back to the Koha community, I should think that they would gladly and joyfully received. And it would be a simple matter to make koha.org refer to the koha-community.org should such a time come. However, all of this is pure speculation at the moment and mostly a diversion of time and energy in a useless fashion. We can cross that bridge if and when we come to it. number of item records attached to a biblio record
by Linda Culberson 23 Mar '10

23 Mar '10

Sorry, folks. I know I have read or heard somewhere about a limit to the number of items that can be attached to a single bibliographic record, but I can't find it now. Can someone tell me what that number is? Thanks. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. O. Embed ebook and video

Hi James! Would you mind sharing step-by-step how you managed to embed and ebook and a video in Koha? Thanks! Here's a couple of things I've played with: http://www.galileo.aur.it/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?bib=24674 (An ebook I created from Project Gutenberg and placed into Issuu) and http://www.galileo.aur.it/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?bib=20627 (a movie from Google Video) I don't know if I like this or not, but when people see them, they think it's pretty cool. It's the way some of these APIs and similar methods to make mashups can function. You can still do the full-screen view and everything.
