circulation box -- impossible class?

Hi all, I am having a circulation issue -- when attempting to check out to a patron, a small yellow box has appeared above the patron name (similar to the box where circ staff could choose to allow checkouts when the patron has overdue items). The yellow box in question, however, is only one line high and has no text or ability to choose anything. From the source code, I believe it is this:   <div class="yui-g first"> <div id="circ_impossible" class="dialog alert">  <ul> </ul> </div></div>  Koha has done this for at least three patrons in both Firefox and Explorer. It might be tied to overdues or fines -- it has happened when the patron owed fines or had overdues but it has also happened after the fines have been paid. In order to check out to these patrons, I have to delete their records and re-add them. I am a Koha express site so have no control over Koha versions or anything other than system preferences. I appreciate any help and will be glad to report this as a bug, if it isn't just something that I messed up somehow. Thanks!

Original MARC cataloging with Koha

We are just starting data entry this summer, and I am playing with Koha trying to learn how to use it. For most books I am hoping to simply download the MARC records. However, I am finding a few books that I think I will have to catalog myself. It is with these that I am having problems. As I went through the MARC tags in Koha I found some had blocks where I could enter data without any problems. However, there are two tags where I really need to enter data and I can't figure out how to do it. Under tag 082 I want to enter the Dewey Decimal Number. My problem is I don't see any box to enter this data. I can click the + and add another tag or the - and take the extra tag away. Yet, I can't enter the call number. My other frustration is I want to assign it a subject heading under the 650 tag. I run into the same problem. There is no data entry box and just + and - signs for the tag. I just want to enter a subject head. Do you all have any suggestions for me? I have noticed some of you mentioning Marc Reader. Would this program be helpful for me? Printing Spine Labels in Koha 3.2

Greetings! I am new to Koha (this is my second week using it) and am thus new to printing spine labels using Koha. I have run into some label printing problems, and would greatly appreciate any words of advice from those of you who have sucessfully printed spine labels. Some background: I use DEMCO WS14217670 labels (8 1/2 x 11 sheets of 1" x 1.5# labels). The first three columns are perfectly aligned and centered. The last four columns of label data are not; they need to be shifted to the right, but I am at a loss as to how to do so. Any suggestions, ideas or advice would be most welcome! Tips & Tricks Change the size of the opacsmallimage by Koustubha Kale Koha’s system preference “opacsmallimage” has always amused me because of its limitation of size. Most of the time it won’t fit your libraries logo. Here I have a jquery based script that can be used in “opacuserjs” which overcomes this limitation. While replacing Koha logo the script also adds a “Powered by Koha” with Koha logo and a link back to the koha-community.org site at the bottom of the page. See the script. Track In House Usage by Nicole C. Engard Koha allows for the easy tracking of items that are used within the library. To do this you first need to create a patron of the ‘Statistical’ type. At the end of the day when you’re clearing off all of the tables in the library you simply check those books out to the statistical patron and an in house use will be logged. This will show your board and decision makers that the library is being used even if items are not leaving the library. To learn more about tracking in house use, view this page in the manual. KohaCon Roadtrip: Registrations due by 30th June.

Hi all , Just heard from the travel agent who reports the following: 1. We need registrations by 30th June so we can confirm the bookings, 2. She is requoting because we have had a tax increase in NZ and its 3 months since the quote was prepared so there may be a slight increase, 3. At the time of writing (subject to 2 above) if you want a single room rather than share twin the cost will be an extra $140 on top of the price quoted (ie $300 share twin vs $440 single). 4. Extra nights at the Mercure prior to the Road Trip will cost $120 single or $60 pp (sharing). Cheers Jo.

Hello everyone, Is there a list anywhere of the fields/subfields that are indexed in Koha? (I was asked if Koha indexes the 521 or 526 for Lexile ratings).
