Importing multiple items into a record
by Vikram Vincent 13 Sep '10

13 Sep '10

Hello! I am migrating data from a old library system to Koha. Right now multiple copies of a book appear as independent records. How do I display them as multiple items in a single record. Something like {Check_out; item--;Check_in; item++} I saw that the mrk file record needs to have data with multiple 952$p values. How do I automate the matching process? Thanks. Now, it seems to be a multi-step, and strangely laborious process. Has anyone developed a nice workaround or is there development in the works that my folks might be able to get involved in? Where discuss RFCs ?
by Zeno Tajoli 13 Sep '10

13 Sep '10

Hi to all, I write this mail to koha and koha-devel mailing lists because this topic is quit wide. So where do you think we need to discuss RFC? An example is this RFC: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Analytic_Record_support The original post is from Bywater Then in the "talk" section there is a replay of Savitra Sirohi. I want to add my considerations also (a user asked us a develop about analytics on unimarc). But where ? In the main section of the wiki page ? In the "Talk" section ? On the mailing lists ? Thank you for your replies! Kathy, the tag I want to add is 099 (local call/text number). Pressing new record, either in default framework or book framework, it doesn't appear... Should I make a new framework and set 099 mandatory?... don't know really.. thanks! Oh! That's a cool idea - but right now it is not possible. question about database fields
by Linda Culberson 10 Sep '10

10 Sep '10

In the wiki at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Holdings_data_fields_%289xx%29 it says: "The connection between the marc field and the sql tables 'items' is done with the frameworks. You can't change the sql table 'items' but YOU can change the marc field and subfields." However, we have found that the size for itemcallnumber is too small for some of our call numbers. Does this mean that we cannot increase the size of the field? Thanks in advance. -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives& History P.
