[koha 3.2] oai-pmh problem
by Nitesh Rijal 03 Nov '10

03 Nov '10

Hello all. I have recently installed KOHA 3.2 in Ubuntu 10.10. Today I figured out that there is some problem with my OAI server. In another system installed in my public server having KOHA 3.0.6 and Ubuntu 10.04 there is no problem with the same thing. The problem is that after turning on the OAI server and giving a proper oai-archive-id I hit this in the browser: http://localhost/cgi-bin/koha/oai.pl?verb=ListIdentifiers&metadataPrefix=oa… This gave me this output: <OAI-PMH xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/ > http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/OAI-PMH.xsd"> <responseDate>2010-11-01T07:28:21Z</responseDate> <request verb="ListIdentifiers" metadataPrefix="oai_dc"> > http://localhost/cgi-bin/koha/oai.pl</request> <ListIdentifiers/> </OAI-PMH> While there are 20 records in my catalogue. Moreover, when I try the same in my public server at http://202.70.88.11:8000/cgi-bin/koha/oai.pl?verb=ListIdentifiers&metadataP… I can see all the records listed. The problem is similar with the "GetRecord" verb as well. What may be the problem? Please Help. Nope, it's just not there. Anyway, it's just on my test box (for good reasons) I will try a reinstall later when I have time again unless somebody has a bright idea. No related errors (actually, no errors) in koha log files. Deleting the installation sample library file
by Paul A 02 Nov '10

02 Nov '10

My first post to this forum; I have tried to search for an answer with no success, so my apologies if this question is simplistic. Koha 3.2 installed on Ubuntu 10.10 server, with all required modules. Programmatically, it works fine with the recommended test/sample file (Centreville library), user and admin interfaces fully functional, as is Marc imports. Q: How do we completely delete all the "Centreville" library records, so that we can set up our own library from scratch? Thanks - Paul -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Deleting-the-installation-sample-library-… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

zebraqueue and cron jobs
by Paul A 02 Nov '10

02 Nov '10

Appendix 12.2 to the new Koha 3.2 manual suggests running rebuild_zebra.pl as a Cron job every n minutes. However, the zebraqueue_daemon appears to automatically update the biblio database as and when needed. Could someone kindly explain the necessity of the Cron job? We are having a few problems finding sufficient "system level" documentation. In 3.02.00; where is the cataloguing?
by Marty 02 Nov '10

02 Nov '10

Maybe I am overlooking it, but in 3.00.06 there was a cataloguing module under 'More', there is no such thing in my 3.02.00.004, at least, not under tools and I cannot find it anywhere else. (Under 'More' there is 'Lists, Acquisitions, Authorities, Serials, Reports, Tools, Administration and About Koha) What did I do now? I wonder... Any hints welcome

Changing the Marc-Flowers to another language
by Beda Szukics 02 Nov '10

02 Nov '10

Hi all Some time ago I installed Koha on three times for different libraries. As it had been version 3.01 I had to choose the MARC-flavour and the language environment. I selected MARC21 in the english section. Due to the wonderful work Katrin Fischer has done there is now a german version of MARC21 (both biblio and authority). Is there a way to change from english to german? I have done some translation work on the descriptions of the MARC-fields too using the staff interface. Is there a way to export that for use in other installations? Thanks Beda -- Beda Szukics www.muri-gries.ch Benediktinerkollegium, Bruenigstr. 177 CH-6060 Sarnen
