*Hi all* I have installed all perl modules required for koha-3.02.00 stable version on centos 5.5 when I run the perl Makefile.PL I got the following messege and koha installed, make, make test and make install all ok and all test passed [root@localhost koha-3.02.00]# perl Makefile.PL *unable to locate Koha configuration file koha-conf.xml at /root/Desktop/koha-3.02.00-rc/C4/Context.pm line 307.* After completing installation I took me web installer loggin page and put username and password that further moved to the web installer > step 1 and only EN language appeeard to choose. Download MARCedit. http://people.oregonstate.edu/~reeset/marcedit/html/issues.html This first thing I would do is use MARCedit to tear apart the records from your old system and examine them closely. Match the 852 to the 952 fields. You will probably need to match up the sub fields as well. Here are some rough notes I kept on migrating from Koha 2.29 to 3.xx You may need to use much the same process to create the correct 952 field entries. (in this case I create a temporary 998 field and use it to rebuild the 952 field.) Item information in 852 field

Hello. I'm the librarian at the Griffin School in Austin, Texas (a small a college preparatory high school with a focus on the arts). We recently successfully migrated our MARC21 records from Book Systems into Koha. We did *not* succeed in bringing individual *items*. Looking at the Book Systems MARC records, I see that the item barcode and call number are located in the 852 field. Is there are way to bring these into the Koha default 952 fields? Alternately, is there a way to batch create one item each for each of our bibliographic records? Thanks much for your suggestions in advance. Setting up for installation Koha 3.02

Dear all, I have downloaded, but not installed Koha 3.02 on Ubuntu 10.10 I have followed the instructions that are outlined at the following: http://www.kohadocs.org/Installing_Koha_on_Debian_sarge.html So far things have worked out. At point 3.1.6 (Installing the remaining perl modules) the instructions are as follows... At this point we can install the other Perl modules: koha:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install “Net::Z3950::ZOOM”' koha:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install “Digest::MD5”' koha:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install XML::SAX' koha:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install Class::Accessor' koha:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install Business::ISBN' When I copy these to the terminal, the following is returned, root@laptop:/# perl -MCPAN -e 'install “Net::Z3950::ZOOM”' Unrecognized character \xE2 in column 9 at -e line 1. I have no idea where to go from here. If any knows what to do next, or even if there is an easier way to download and install I should be grateful for any instructions. I do know that synaptic has the following package, Ruby binding to the Z39.50 Object-Orientation Model (for Ruby 1.8) FYI, I am a librarian and am downloading this for my own purposes, it is not meant to go into any serious production, but I would like it to be as close as possible to the real thing. One day I hope to "sell" this to the powers that be in my workplace. thanks for any help kevin Jones

Hi Marie Jane, I have managed to get Koha partially running again, meaning that it is fully functional, but for now it needs a manual entry in the terminal. I am waiting for somebody to come up with an answer. Basically it's exactly what I thought it was, but so far no easy solution. Sigh. Life's never easy, is it? Anyway, in case you need to work with it; After you have started the computer, open a terminal (click on the little foot at the left bottom, the top of the list is accessories, from there you can open a terminal, basically a text window) In the terminal, type: sudo zebrasrv -D -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml (enter) (if it asks for a password, it will be: handsoff) Now it will work. Hopefully I can get it fixed tomorrow, so you won't need this. Marty

I have tried 'sudo /etc/init.d/koha-zebra-daemon start' which does not give me any errors, but I am also convinced it does NOT start the daemon. As far as I'm concerned, it just echoes a text but does not actually start anything. This is not a good day... We have upgraded from 3.00.04 to 3.00.06, after running rebuild_zebra.pl -b -a -z it does not have any search results anymore... Tried rebuild_zebra.pl -b -w as well, still no search results... Things I suspect to be not as they should be: biblios@debian:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/koha-zebra-daemon restart Restarting the Zebra Server daemon: fatal: failed to find pid for koha-zebra-ctl.koha: No such file or directory biblios@debian:~$ ps -ef | grep zebrasrv biblios 3322 3085 0 11:27 pts/0 00:00:00 grep zebrasrv no error messages in log files... What gives? Why? It runs fine on a parallel system but I need this one running! I need more help...
