oh ,thank you ,i don't know why ,the first time i use rebuild , it says can't locate C4/Context ,so i use: perl -I /usr/share/koha/lib rebuild_zebra.pl -v -b -r -s & perl -I /usr/share/koha/lib rebuild_zebra.pl -a -z & perl -I /usr/share/koha/lib rebuild_zebra.pl -b -z i don't know what it means, but it works only if i stop the zebraque_daemon.pl. because i start it within booting,so i change the rc.local, and reboot to stop it, then run it and reboot to start the zebra server, and it works. and i want to know if it has some easy way to clean the zebra index.. what i use is koha3.0.6 and debian 5.0.4 ,i install the lamp with apt-install and the koha with standard install.and i do have a koha user kohaadmin Wish you best~! Could you please explain the steps you've followed? Updating zebra indexes its pretty straight-forward, maybe you're not following the right docs. Which linux are you using? did you do a standard install? a dev install? which path did you choose for the install? did you create the koha user? did you run the reindexing scripts as 'koha' user? Perhaps we can figure out how to give you more detailed instructions. To+

re-doing invoices
by Rachel Hollis 05 Nov '10

05 Nov '10

Greetings friends, I have a library assistant who is learning the Acquisitions Module (Koha 3.01.00.145) and now some items need to be re-invoiced/received. The only way that I could see to do this was to delete the basket, which made it necessary to re-create other order lines and invoices. Essentially what started out as two kooky invoices became a need to recreate four baskets and six invoices. Is there a better way to go about correcting an invoice? Koha security issue.
by Scott Kushner 05 Nov '10

05 Nov '10

We are using mozilla firefox 3.5.4 for Koha access for our patrons. After one patron is done and walks away, the next patron can use the "back" button to access the previous patron's records-if 6 patrons have used this workstation, all of their transactions can be seen by the last patron. Has the new release of Koha addressed this security issue. Does anyone have a "one-patron session" fix for this? Thanks, Rod Alberse Information Technologies Middletown Township Public Library(MTPL)

Scott, We used OpenKiosk, with a setting to automatically clear out all cached settings every few minutes of non-use to resolve this issue. We also have a "Log Out" Button (configurable through OpenKiosk) to allow users to manually clear out their session information. This issue has popped up on many ILS's/Kiosk situations, not just Koha. Open Kiosk is a free plugin for firefox, available here: https://www.mozdevgroup.com/clients/bm/ Christopher Hyde Information Technology East Brunswick Public Library Message: 7 Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2010 14:18:41 -0400 From: "Scott Kushner" <skushner(a)mtpl.org> Subject: [Koha] Koha security issue. Cron Job Questions Koha 3 with Zebra on Ubuntu 7.10
by Bruce Raymond 04 Nov '10

04 Nov '10

When a new item is added to the catalog it is not showing up until the rebuild_zebra.pl is run. The staff doing the cataloging would like to be able to have access to the records immediately. 1. What cron jobs or other procedures should be running, and how often should they run, to enable the records to update right away? 2. And a related question.... What cron jobs do you recommend running (and how often) in a "typical" koha w/ Zebra installation. Thanks, Bruce Raymond

Printing spine labels to Dymo Turbo 330
by Chadwick, John, DCA 04 Nov '10

04 Nov '10

I have a Dymo label printer that had been attached to my computer. We ran some tests printing spine labels from Koha and everything worked fine. I took the printer to a new computer and installed the label printer and the latest software. I can print from the Dymo interface, but I can't print from the Web page with the spine label display. Any suggestions or ideas? Salvete! First of all a hearty thank you to all of the Conference Organisers. Chris' honour is on the line. Oh yeah, I went there. You see, we're working under a 6 month release deadline now, good people. You don't want Chris to lose face setting so ambitious a goal, do you? Of course not. So I call on all of _you_, yes ALL, list lurker, wannabe coder, good developers, Librarians ALL! *Now* is the time to be of service. So get thee to an IRCery! 10 November 2010 19:00-20:00. (according to the Community website. If I'm wrong, please do jump on me.) Cheers, Brooke
