Changing output format for staff- and patron-generated lists
by Joel 04 May '11

Is it possible to change the output format for lists generated in OPAC? Koha provides a link to email lists to other users, but, according to Koha, the lists are only viewable in ProCite, Reference Manager and EndNote. Is it possible to output these lists to other file formats, such as Excel or Access? Re: [Koha] Sirsi in NZ!

Looking through the Government Procurement Portal there wasn't a official Request for Proposal I guess that they made the decision based on the fact a large portion of our Public Libraries such as use SirsiDynix solutions they felt it was the best solution as it would be easier for other public libraries. On a side note I happened to login to Christchurch City Libraries today (first time since february) and they've rolled out BibloCommons on top of the current SirsiDynix solution they are using their reasoning is outline here http://christchurchcitylibraries.com/News/2011/BiblioCommons/ granted tis not Koha but its actually nice to see our core services starting to recover from the earthquake Kindest Regards, Christopher Downs

reoccuring problem with 'search'
by Ernie Penner 03 May '11

03 May '11

Greetings! I have a reoccurring problem with my KOHA 3.2.5. version. I previously posted that I search had 'search' problems at the end of March. Bob Birchall (Thanks Bob!) posted something that helped solve the problem. I have a similar problem now again. I cannot pull up any records via search (even if I know what the bar code is of a book that I entered OR the title of the book entered). This problem is on both the patron page or on Librarian Page. I have tried to rebuild the zebra server but no success. The records are there if I go to 'check out' or 'check in' items. How do I fix this? What is the fix for this? Cheers, Ernie

Inventory/Stocktaking Functions in Koha 3.02.06
by Darcy Gullacher 03 May '11

03 May '11

Good afternoon, If anyone has used the Inventory/Stocktaking feature in Koha 3.02.06, I have a few questions: - First of all, I loaded a same sample of 52 item barcodes using MS Notepad. The load went fine, and the “Date Last Seen” updated to the current date. - However, all that happens is “Date Last Seen” is updated. If an item is not on the shelf, the tool does not indicate that an item is missing. Also, if an item is mishelved but its barcode is scanned, then the “Date Last Seen” is updated, but the tool does not indicate that the item is actually mishelved. To do both an inventory and a shelf-reading, I'm assuming it would be smarter to pull up a listing of items using call number range under “Select items you want to check” and manually check for items instead of loading a barcode file. Is this a correct assumption? - What does the item statuses feature do? Every time I try to limit a search by an item status I get no results. To my mind, this should limit search results to items of a certain status. - What do the “Inventory Date” and the “compare barcodes list to results” features at the bottom third of the page do? Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Darcy Gullacher Head Librarian Rocky Mountain College 4039 Brentwood Road N.W. Koha - changing advance search page
by Linda Culberson 02 May '11

02 May '11

All, I'm trying to figure out out to remove whole sections from the advanced search in Koha, notably, Language and Subtype limits. I saw that Horowhenua Library Trust had done it for the subtype limits and there is an id="subtypes". But I can't figure out how to make the Language limits go away since there doesn't seem to be an id for that one.
