MySQL Server on separate machine

hi alll i am going to install koha on production server. is it possible to install koha by using mysql database installed on a separate machine? all databases of my company on a separate server machine and my IT manager is not allowing me to install mysql and koha on the same server. can someone tell me method for this? -- Regards Abdul Vali Librarian - ASE School

Label creation problem

Dear Friends, I got the following error when trying to create barcode labels from Koha version 3.04.01 *WARNING:* An error was encountered and items(s) not added, the error was: Branch is not set, you please set your branch before adding items to a batch Please have your system administrator check the error log for details. leading zeroes in 001 and UseControlNumber

All, Is there a way to use UseControlNumber to use the record control number ($w subfields) and control number (001) for linking of the bibliographic records if the 001 has leading zeroes? Or, is there a way to strip the leading zeroes short of manipulating the marc record and reloading? What we've found is that what we really are wanting to match now are either the absolute value of the control number or the biblionumber. cover images in koha

Hey all- Is there anyway to upload cover images for each book into Koha? We're currently importing covers from Amazon for our books with ISBNS. However, we're hoping to create records for our student work (comic books) and would like to scan and add these covers to be displayed in the record as well. Any ideas? I have reinstalled koha 3.4.1 and I'm able to access the admin web interface. But when I run the update scripts I still get remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl --run DBI connect('dbname=koha;host=localhost;port=3306','kohaadmin',...) failed: Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /opt/kohaclone/koha-tmpl/lib/C4/Context.pm line 692 I'm on SuSE 11.3 Anyone else with the same problem?
