Hello ! I just want to know if it is possible to change the max-lenght of the branch/library names. The input field is now set to maxlenght=80. (The input field under the Library code.) Unfortunately it is sometimes too short to mention the full library name. Can I change this default setting easily or must I change the database settings too ? Can you import a user list from SAP into KOHA? Has anyone done it successfully? I'd love some best practices. David W. Dear Friends, I tried to import marc record through Tools > Stage Marc records. Koha version is 3.02.05 The marc file contain 28000 records. It successfully imported all records. I created a report to display elements in accession register order. I got the list of about 16000 records when downloaded the report in CSV format. Other records details missing from the report. Items checked in/out problems?

Yesterday I checked in 3 items, waiting for each item to appear on the screen as truly checked in. I then checked the patrons account to make sure all items were checked in. All appeared well. Today, I checked the same three items in again-two showed correct status: not-checked out. The third item's status: was NOT checked in. This has happened several times, sporadically, over several months. Has anyone experienced this problem? Global bug squashing day #2 - 1 short summary and 2 questions

Dear Community! GBSD#2 should now be finnished in all timezones (I think), and here are some of the results: Does not apply 63 -> 38 Failed QA 53 -> 57 Needs Signoff 50 -> 53 Passed QA 1 -> 8 Signed Off 90 -> 94 http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2011-07-08_Global_bug_squashing_day#Num… Now that actually looks less impressive than it is. A lot of bugs were moved from "Does not apply" to "Needs signoff" (hence the increase in "Needs signoff), and some were moved from "Signed off" to "Passed QA" etc. See the link above for some "snapshots" taken during the day. A couple of questions: * BibLibre are having "community days" every other Friday (as far as I have heard). (I think for me personally dedicating 1 day every 4 weeks to this stuff is probably the best I can do at the moment, but others might see it differently.) * Is Friday the best day for GBSDs? (I know I personally want to make pizza and be around the wife and the dogs when Friday afternoon comes around, whereas on another weekday it might be easier to get some work done after dinner. Adding a 591 to Koha 3.4

All, I have been trying unsuccessfully to have a 591 field show up in the default and other frameworks in Koha 3.4. The field appears to be there when setting up the frameworks, but when I go to do a new catalog record or open a record that has a 591 field it isn't there. I have the 591 in as repeatable, using tab 5, and have tried visibility options for subfield 'a' as 0, 1, and 4. Since I don't want it to appear in the opac, I would prefer the "hidden" setting to be 1 or 4. When I couldn't get it to appear when adding a new record I changed it to 0 but it still is not the when adding or editing a record. We had moved our donor/cost information from the 590 to the 591 to keep it from appearing in the OPAC, but the effect has be for it to disappear entirely from the staff client as well as the OPAC. I can see it in biblioitems.marcxml where datafield tag='591' so I know that the data is there. Has any one else noticed this behavior or have a solution? Finally got a chance to sit down with my IT guru and look at this. He says we've got sufficient memory for the processing. There's something happening with the zebra indexing. After installing the latest update and rebuilding the zebra, everything looked and worked as it should. Then I went in and changed one character in one record and then the saved record showed no items in the short list, and when I searched for the barcode associated with that record's item the search failed. The item information is there if you go to the record. Unmodified records were still ok (as of midnight last night British Summer Time). He' has updated the bug [6435] with more technical information. This problem has caused a slight snag in our cataloguing routine, I'm just glad we don't yet use Koha for circualtion!
