2011-07-08 Global bug squashing day

Since there were no severe complaints after the first "Global sign off day", I'll risk proposing another one, with a new name: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2011-07-08_Global_bug_squashing_day (globsquad for short) The name has been chosen to highlight that this day is meant not only to encourage signing off on bugs, but to encourage all kinds of activities that can help bugs and patches move along in the right direction. newbie: items from Follet export

Dear All, I am the IT teacher at a very small school. For several years we have been running debian-edu/skolelinux on our servers and workstations. So when the librarian (who is a part-time volunteer and doesn't know anything about library systems) told me the ageing Follet system would no longer allow her to add books, I naturally turned to Koha. I have a test instance running, and I can bulkmarcimport.pl the marc records exported from Follet. So here is my question: Although the marc export from Follet had the "include copy info" box checked, and I can see the barcodes in the microlif.001 file, the catalogue on Koha has no items available for any record, and there are no barcodes showing. I am hoping someone with Follet migration experience will know what I have to do. Thanks! -- nigel Hiroshima International School

A couple of questions about Koha

Hi group, I am new to the list and helping a non-profit organization out that is using Koha. I have a couple of questions. Is it possible to have polyhierarchy in Koha? They have some materials that don't categorize in one place very well. Also, I noticed that it looks like you can import a collection into Koha. Right now the organization's holdings are in an Excel spreadsheet. What needs to happen to the data before it can be migrated? Thanks, Christine

Koha - insecure = off

I am experiencing something here.. as i was reading a manual.. i wentto system preference and under insecure i change it to "yes" as i was trying to see what will happen however now i cant turn it back to now as it says am not logged in and i dont see the long page. Hi all, I wrote this report to get all subject headings in a Koha system that start with key phrases: SELECT lcsh FROM (SELECT biblionumber, ExtractValue(marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="610"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') AS lcsh FROM biblioitems) AS subjects WHERE lcsh LIKE "College%" OR lcsh LIKE "Seminary%" GROUP BY lcsh What's happening is if there is more than one 610 on a bib record it's showing them both on one line. I tried using DISTINCT, but that's didn't do the trick, so I'm up for ideas. Nicole
