Dear Lee Philips, I am Remi Nedelec, company "Aesis Conseil", France and we got a mail from Paul Poulain about your needs in terms of public computer management system. Our society provides such a solution called WebKiosk. WebKiosk offers your users a highly secure Internet access and tools which are adapted to your library. Here are the features : - a simple, pleasant and intuitive web-based control panel with users rights management - works as a stand-alone client or in conjunction with a print release terminal - works in conjunction with koha (full compatibility) - scheduled or immediate computer reservation - time allocation management - free third party Internet-filtering software SquidGuard - both Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server and Desktop Edition - and more ! WebKiosk is not translated in us/english language yet. The translation file is easy to make though. Indeed, we split the language file from the application so we can easily add a language support. You should contact us at informations(a)aesis-conseil.com to tell us more details about your needs. @Biblibre : thanks for the information ! How to use my customized feature in all versions of Koha
by devendratapdia 28 Jul '11

28 Jul '11

Hi, I will like to use my customized feature in all versions of Koha. So I have few questions regarding the same. 1) Whether I can add my feature as a plug-in to Koha Versions? 2) Does Koha has plug-in architecture like Eclipse? -Devendra Tapdia -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/How-to-use-my-customized-feature-in-all-v… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Arcadia Public Library uses Envisionware's PCReservation and LPT:One and we are very satisfied with it. It works well with Koha SIP, it is easy to manage by staff, it is easy to use by the public. MARC mapping
by nreese 28 Jul '11

28 Jul '11

Hi all, I've carried out Koha to MARC mapping, and when I run the MARC Bibliographic framework test, I get the following errors: biblio and biblionumber The biblio.biblionumber and biblioitems.biblioitemnumber fields be mapped to a MARC subfield, biblio.biblionumber has biblionumber 090 c Koha biblionumber (NR) and biblioitems.biblioitemnumber has biblioitemnumber 090 d Koha biblioitemnumber (NR) itemtype NOT mapped the biblioitems.itemtype field MUST : * be mapped to a MARC subfield, * the corresponding subfield MUST have authorised_value=itemtype (it has 942 c Item type subfield: Tab:0, | Koha field: biblioitems.itemtype, Not repeatable, Not mandatory, | Auth value:itemtypes, ) Does anyone know what is going on here? Koha 3.4.02 on openSuse 11.4. Hi Hope I find you well. I have a super librarian who has four cataloguers and is interested in establishing the number of items catalogued by each cataloguer on a weekly and monthly basis. Is there anyone who have come up with such a query. Or alternatively, can someone formulate the query for me, for I am at a loss. Regards, Admire Mutsikiwa University of Zimbabwe

Upgrading Issues
by Olugbenga Adara 27 Jul '11

27 Jul '11

Hello all, I am in the process of upgrading an installation from 3.0.to 3.4. Because this particular install was first installed as 2.2.9 nozebra and later upgraded to 3.0 nozebra, certain koha to Marc relationships are not the same as those in a default 3.2 or 3.4 install. Specifically rather than 999$c as biblionumber, it is 090$c, bibliitemnumber is 090$d rather than 999$d while itemnumber is 952$v rather than 952$9. Also the Permanent location is 952$d rather than 952$a. This has not allowed zebra searches to work. Now I thought of exporting out the Marc records, using marcedit to correct the Marc data and reimporting the records into koha using the title as a match point. I believe Koha should then retain the item number as we do not want to lose the issues record. The other way I am thinking of is to change the melm entries in record.abs, but I think this has to be repeated for every future upgrade. Does anyone have any advice for the best way to handle this issue? Thanks a lot.
