Hi I configured Koha to send email when one items is placed hold, but i don't receive nothing. Sendmail is working becouse if i try to send email directly from the server I received it. VirtualHost overlap after installing Koha-3.00.00

Hi all, We have been running Koha 2.2.9 for a while and want to upgrade to 3. It seems to be installed, but on restarting the server I get this message: [Tue Sep 09 10:06:47 2008] [warn] VirtualHost debian:8080 overlaps with VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:8080, the first has precedence, perhaps you need a NameVirtualHost directive [Tue Sep 09 10:06:47 2008] [warn] VirtualHost debian:80 overlaps with VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:80, the first has precedence, perhaps you need a NameVirtualHost directive I know this is mnot an Apache group, but somebody might have had this problem and knows the solution. I am by no means an expert on servers. When I enter debian:80 or debian:8080 in the URL bar I do get the welcome to koha message before it shows the "internal server error". I have played around with the koha-httpd.conf file, but the only result so far has been different overlaps (like debian:80 overlaps with VirtualHost debian:80, the first has precedence, perhaps you need a NameVirtualHost directive) Thanks, Marty

Series info in 440 or 490?

This is both a library MARC structure issue and a Koha data structure issue: I'm a bit confused about the normal practice concerning a numbered series of books information (e.g. Babysitter's Club) I pretty well completed the transition from Follett to Koha 3.4 on Ubuntu and am ready to begin the new school year on August 15. I discovered the problem that the imported data from Follett regarding series information were different from standard info on a Z3950 search. The default Books, Booklets, Workbooks framework does not have the 490 as default but has 440, with a lock on subfield a. I kept my Follett data into 440, but am not able to edit the existing biblios in that framework, tab 4. (I have not set up any authorities). Newly catalogued books (only about 20) imported from a Z3950 search import the series info into 490. The biblio editing tab 4 displays it fine. Since they were brought in using the existing Book framework, the serial field and seriestitle in the biblio field remains blank. Puzzled, I discovered that 440 is now obsolete in the US. In the existing Follett to Koha migrations that were documented, this issue had not been brought up before. So I have changed the framework for 490 to now appear by default (setting to the advanced constraints "hidden" to 0). I've mapped MARC to Koha to 490 for serial info. Getting this string <datafield tag="440" ind1=" " ind2="0"> to read <datafield tag="490" ind1=" " ind2="1"> is just a minor SQL Update Replace() query in the marcxml field in the biblioitems table. Getting the content of the now 490a subfield and 490v subfield (the only 440/490 fields in use) into the serial and seriestitle fields is still a problem. Am I on the right track? Do I have to change anything in the marc field of the biblioitems table? Thanks for the help. Marion Visitation Inter-Parish School Vienna, MO

I have the following Cron Jobs scheduled: /koha-3.2.5/misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -w (scheduled every 2-3 minutes) /koha-3.2.5/misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r -a (scheduled every 15 minutes) With these cron jobs running the library staff is not able to search any of their entries. I find koha-conf.xml in the following 2 locations: /koha-3.2.5/etc/koha-conf.xml /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml I also find rebuild_zebra.pl in 2 locations: /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl /koha-3.2.5/misc/migratin_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl To which ones do I need to export the following: export PERL5LIB=/path/to/your/koha/ export KOHA_CONF=/path/to/your/koha-conf.xml I have read that having two of each of these files could be my problem. Which needs to be deleted? How do I know to which one the databased is using? If I delete the wrong one what kind of problems would I be facing? Bottom line I want to restore the library's search capabilities. Cheers, Ernie
