Staff and OPAC display always shows Type Book

Hi all I recently upgraded to 3.4.4. No matter what I search for the results in both Staff client and OPAC Normal dispaly always show Type: Book Is there anything I can do to fix this? Dear Mahesh Staff and Student are totally two different category, Staff is for the library professional staff who has different rights like issue, return, cataloguing of books, journals, CD, etc. Whereas Student will be like any other library users. Student can see their account to see how many books issues, fine status, any special notice, checkout history (if configured), contact details, etc. It always recommended to provide username and password to library users (students, faculty, outside members). This will library users to see all records related to them, instead of coming to the circulation staff and disturbing the circulation staff. Circulation staff can use this time for some productive work like study of shelves, understanding the collection, usage patterns, etc. You can provide username and password for student to access their account. Generally username is the Library ID and password is students' first name. Revert for any clarifications or help. Just set up a borrower with a user name and password and they can login to check their status. They don't need to login to search, unless you change OpacPublic preference. Incomplete export from Alice

Hi, I have just installed Koha 3.2.10. How can a Student log into the Koha to search the books, see his status ? Firstly, is it possible for a student to login into Koha ? Please help me in this. Customising the Koha OPAC

Hi All, I would like to make some changes to my Koha OPAC with how it display¹s Bibliographic Details on the OPAC Detail¹s page, in three particular areas of the screen. 1. Title Display At present, the item¹s Title displays as how it normally displays in the Koha OPAC. But, I would like to add onto this current display format. For example, two titles I currently have in the catalogue: The monster book of manga : girls / edited by Ikari Studio. MARC Format: 245 04 $aThe monster book of manga : $bgirls / $cedited by Ikari Studio. Koha OPAC Display: The monster book of manga : girls / I would like this to display on the OPAC Detail¹s page as: The monster book of manga : girls / edited by Ikari Studio. Printer. Deskjet D2560 [equipment] / Hewlett-Packard. MARC Format: 245 10 $aPrinter. $nDeskjet D2560 $h[equipment] / $cHewlett-Packard. Koha OPAC Display: Printer. I would like this to display on the OPAC Detail¹s page as: Printer. Deskjet D2560 [equipment] / Hewlett-Packard. 2. Publication Details At present, the Item¹s Publication details show on the OPAC Detail¹s page as: Published by : Collins Design, (New York, N.Y. :) I would like this to display on the OPAC Details page as: - Published by : New York, N.Y. : Collins Design, 2008. 3. Physical Details At present, the Koha OPAC will only display the data that is entered in tags 300 $a, $b, $c on the OPAC Detail¹s page, but I would like to extend this to display the fields 300 $a, $b, $c, $e. At present details would be listed as per normal, e.g. 64 p. : ill. (some col.) ; 28 cm., but if there is any data in 300$e (Accompanying material) it won¹t display in the OPAC display. I would the 300$e (Accompanying field) to display in the OPAC Detail¹s display if there is data in the field, e.g.: 64 p. : ill. (some col.) ; 28 cm. + 2 posters. I have looked through the Koha manuals to see there is any mention of how to make these changes to the OPAC Details page, but have been unsuccessful on finding anything. Error Upon Adding Items to Koha

Hi All, When adding Items to Bibliographic Records in Koha v3, I am receiving the following error message: Software error: Can't call method "subfield" on an undefined value at /home/koha/kohaclone/C4/Biblio.pm line 2880. For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster@koha), giving this error message and the time and date of the error. Can someone please help me with this error? Kindest Regards, Joel

Koha and Memcache

Running Koha 3.4.3, it appears that Koha is only using Memcache for storing session information and certain very static information: <28 get KOHAgetTranslatedLanguages-list-opac prog <28 get KOHAgetTranslatedLanguages-scalar-opac prog en <28 get KOHAgetAllLanguages-scalar- There would seem to be much more information that could be safely cached in a local memcache to speed things up, particularly if the Mysql database is not running on the local machine. Has anyone looked into this? -Doug-

We have an about page in Koha that lists them, the translators and many more. Patches are always accepted to keep that page up to date. It is incredibly important that the impact people and organisations have had and continue to have on the project is recognised. The about page is one way to do that, as is the history.txt file. It is with great pleasure that I can announce that yesterday (NZ time) I had the honour of pushing a patch from the 150th person to contribute to the Koha project codebase. You could be the 151st by patching the about.tt page to match :) Chris

Not really true. I have seen numerous responses to questions by PTFS employees on this list that were technical in nature and had nothing to do with PTFS/Liblime Koha. I also noticed that some of them are listed in the "thank you" list as contributors to the current community version.
