customizing koha

when I installed koha it worked well. But when started to customize it, item search is not working both in opac and the client page. Though we have many records in the database the z3950 search is saying 0 items found. Has someone had this problem and know of a solution to fix it! At present, our system is on Koha 3.2 on ubuntu 10.04 Thankyou in advance. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/customizing-koha-tp4769324p4769324.html Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Truncating the nozebra table in koha DB
by sheldon_tappin 04 Sep '11

Hi All, Is it OK to truncate the nozebra table in koha database. The table is too big for a database backup. Your response is highly appreciated. Chris - thanks ... I'll try and wrap my head around this, but do you know of a detailed description of how zebra is *supposed* to work, vice how it *actually* works, particularly with Koha. KohaCon12 - the proposals are in, let's vote!
by Magnus Enger 03 Sep '11

03 Sep '11

Dear Community, The deadline for proposals for KohaCon12 ended on September 1st, and we have two proposals: * software.coop and other tbc: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK * Washoe County Library System: Reno, NV USA http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Proposals_for_KohaCon12 I guess that means we have to vote on them. I have taken the liberty of adding this as an issue for the next general IRC meeting: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/General_IRC_Meeting,_7_September_2011 (To be precise: we should not do the voting at the meeting, but decide on how to do the voting ;-) The deadline for voting is October 1st! Cataloguing Electronic resources
by library 03 Sep '11

03 Sep '11

Kia ora koutou I'm wondering how people are cataloguing websites and other electronic resources so that they are able to be searched by collection codes. I have trolled the net looking for discussions but have not found anything pertinent yet. The nub of the problem is that if they don't have attached items you cannot enter item types and ccodes, however I don't want to assign barcodes. Are there hidden snags if you have items without barcodes? What happens at stocktake when you have no actual item to stocktake? Is there a better way to do this? I have used item types to assign borrower privileges and ccodes as search points and I am just about to move from 3.2 to 3.4. Naku noa Ann Murphy Katikati College.

CataloguingLog problem
by Vitor Fernandes 02 Sep '11

02 Sep '11

Hi guys. Today i've noticed in one problem in my system preferences: the CataloguingLog preferences (on log tab) was turned off and should be on. Thinking that was someone that turned it off, I've checked the action logs (on log viewer and directly on database) and nothing was wrong. So my question is: there is some Koha process/script that turns off the log for cataloguing? I've suspected of script "sync_items_in_marc_bib.pl" but i've inspected the code and nothing suggest that. I'll appreciated any tips. Thanks in advance. Regards Vitor Fernandes

DateTime version problem
by Perch 02 Sep '11

02 Sep '11

I'm doing a new Koha 3.04.04 installation, but I'm having problems getting the DateTime perl module to work. CPAN seems to give me version 0.70 (Running make for D/DR/DROLSKY/DateTime-0.70.tar.gz...), but Makefile.PL insists that it's version 0.4304 (Warning: prerequisite DateTime 0.51 not found. We have 0.4304.). Maybe I have an older DateTime lying around somewere...? How can I fix this? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/DateTime-version-problem-tp4762023p476202… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
