open bibliographic principles
On behalf of the Open Bibilographic Working Group of the Open Knowledge Foundation, I would like to bring your attention to the Principles on Open Bibliographic data at http://openbiblio.net/principles/ The group continues to offer the opportunity, for both individuals and groups, to sign up to the principles. With respect, what is this? I have asked our biblio specialists, and they've not [yet] heard of your project. One of them took a quick look and told me that apart from it being a CC0 "creative commons zero" (i.e. disregard copyright) project, it's orientated towards URLs -- not MARC except incidentally. You want to "bring [our] attention" to your project, my librarians ask "Does this break what we're doing?" Paul Tired old sys-admin
Kia ora! I took it as "Oi, guys, this is neat! Go look." It seems like something kind of neat to bear in mind as we programme and design away. Philosophy, yeah, that's the ticket. :) Cheers, Brooke
