kohacon11 : Update..
by Koustubha Kale 12 Sep '11

12 Sep '11

Hi All, My apologies for missing yet another meeting. I had an accident. Right arm ( my working arm ) bone & elbow broken. Had to be hospitalized and operated on. I had actually logged in for the meeting with my mobile & left thumb but I was overwhelmed by the medicines during the 3.4 discussion. Anyway I am home now with a couple of weeks compulsory rest. Kohacon11 program as put up by Brooke here<http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Kohacon2011>( http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Kohacon2011 ) looks good. All ground preparations are in hand by VPM authorities. I have requested an additional hall/classroom may be made available in case we require it to run parallel tracks. I will communicate more details about the planned cultural program & dinner, planned one day Mumbai trip for 3rd November etc.. So looks like we will have a great Kohacon11. Looking forward to meeting you all there.. Regards, Koustubha Kale Anant Corporation Contact Details : Address : 103, Armaan Residency, R. W Sawant Road, Nr. Searching catalog
by John 09 Sep '11

09 Sep '11

Hi, I most probably have the most basic of questions, but this is all very new to me (I have only recently installed Koha on my computer). I started to add Marc records with attached items, but if I search the catalog, it does not register these records. I can't find a list with these records either. Can somebody please help me? Koha biblionumber in opac detail and staff normal
by Linda Culberson 09 Sep '11

09 Sep '11

Our staff is wanting the biblionumber to appear in both the normal view of staff client and in the opac detail. I've told them that they can see it in the marc view and in the address bar but they want it visible in the page. Has anyone else dealt with this without it being a RFP and major rewrite (no money at this time) Thanks! -- Linda Culberson lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives & History P. Question on KOHA OAI and XSLT to MARC21
by Hugo Agud 09 Sep '11

09 Sep '11

Dear all I am looking for somebody who have developed the OAI MARC21 extended XSLT, who wish to share or license ;) We are integrating Koha with Extensible Catalogue and although oai_dc is also compatible, we think we have more potential developement using MARC21, instead, there are other solutions but also more complicated We can develope it by our own or hire somebody , but first we wish to take a look on the community Kindest Regards Hugo -- *Hugo Agud - Orex Digital * *www.orex.es* * * Director Avenida Sarriá 29 · 08029 Barcelona <http://twitter.com/OrexDigital> :<http://orexsl.blogspot.com>hugoaguda - Tel: 93 539 40 70 Fax: 93 539 33 30 hagud(a)orex.es · http://www.orex.es/ No imprima este mensaje a no ser que sea necesario. Re: [Koha] Problems after upgrade to 3.4.3

Hello Chris, --- On Thu, 8/4/11, Chris Cormack <chris(a)bigballofwax.co.nz> wrote: From: Chris Cormack <chris(a)bigballofwax.co.nz> Subject: Re: [Koha] Problems after upgrade to 3.4.3 To: "Olugbenga Adara" <gbengaadara(a)yahoo.com> Cc: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Date: Thursday, August 4, 2011, 12:03 PM 2011/8/4 Olugbenga Adara <gbengaadara(a)yahoo.com> > > Hello all, > > I have just finished an upgrade from 3.2.10 to 3.4.3 and after the upgrade, ran the remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl script. I had the following error repeatedly - use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) . After the script completed, I re-indexed zebra and ran a search from the OPAC, I got results but every biblio in all the results always say item is not available, despite the items being displayed in the details page. > > Also circulating books give the error - "Can't call method "subfield" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2835." even though checking the patron's record later shows the book has been successfully checked out. > > Is there a way i can verify that the items were successfully removed from biblioitems? > > One thing with this installation is that the Marc - Koha mappings are not the standard Koha ones. the install has been coming from 2.2.9 and I had to modify record.abs to get zebra to work. > > Any tip/suggestion to get the problem solved will be appreciated. > I suspect that the changed mappings are the root cause of the problem To check the item data has been removed, do a SELECT marcxml FROM biblioitems limit 1; There should be no item data in there. Thanks so much for the reply. Using your command, I can verify the items has been removed from biblioitems. And I believe the mappings are the cause of the problem. When I put 952bdop in the AlternateHoldingsField systems preferences (the permanent location is 952$d while holdingbranch is 952$b, barcode is 952$p) the OPAC now shows item availability. Any advice to correct the mappings? If I do leave the system in this state, would it have any repercussions in the future? Thanks Olugbenga Adara
