Look at http://clavius.tij.uia.mx/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=manual "Copias disponibles para préstamo" mean "available to loan" have ITEMS "Copias disponibles para referencia" mean "for reference" not for loan but still have ITEMS "No hay copias disponibles mean" a MARC record without ITEMS Felipe Adalid Ortiz Anzaldo Bibliotecario de sistemas Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana Biblioteca Loyola http://clavius.tij.uia.mx Ave. Centro Universitario 2501 Playas de Tijuana 22200, Tijuana, B.C. 0 664 630-1577 Ext. 623 adalid(a)tij.uia.mx

Re: [Koha] Getting error on Data Migration (Excel>MarcEdit>Koha)
by Adalid Ortiz 17 Nov '11

17 Nov '11

I recomend that convert groups of 1,000 records using Marcedit and import into koha using the webtool "Stage MARC Records For Import" to get more control and identify errors. Verify the info about ITEMS (tag 952 and subfields). Call for News for the October Newsletter (especially KohaCon11)
by Daniel Grobani 17 Nov '11

17 Nov '11

Hi, I'm gathering news for the November newsletter. Please send me by the 25th anything you think the community might like to know about. "News" can be as short as a sentence or as long as a paper. I especially encourage you to send me a line or two about what you're currently working on for publication in the gossip/society column. And if you know of a go-live not announced on the list, please be sure to let me know about it. This month, I'd like to have a special section dedicated to KohaCon11. So if you were there, please send me reports, notes, impressions, incriminating evidence.... Many thanks, Daniel Grobani

Re: [Koha] special collection.
by Adalid Ortiz 17 Nov '11

In Koha we define a special colection like this: CCODE >> CXS >> Colección Scheifler In the "Add item" section selec this and select "No for loan" defined previusly in "Authorized values" for reference or special collections. special collection.

Another question I'm afraid. How do you indicate 'special collections' in KOHA . In Horizon we currently use TAG 449. We use this to list donations, , etc. With the initial migration that information has moved to a subject line. Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated. Hi, I'm having problems getting some perl modules to work. CPAN seems to give me the newst versions, but Makefile.PL insists that not found the modules. Maybe I have older modules around somewhere? Dear Linda, Thanks for your guidance, I am using MARC21... I have converted "Text(Tab delimited).txt" file to .mrk and then .mrc using MarcEdit (followed the steps from http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2010-December/026750.html) ... As far as 952 and 260 field concern I have no idea how I can convert my data in single field trough MarcEdit (like your example: =082 \\$a917.6703/G925a/2000). Please guide me from where I get together my 952 and 260 fields in single line Regards, Syed On Thu, Nov 17, 2011 at 3:22 AM, Linda Culberson <lculber(a)mdah.state.ms.us>wrote: > Sved, > I've never used Excel to migrate MARC but have used MarcEdit and the > Import Tool.
