MARC - Conversion
by Chief Librarian, SAIACS 06 Jun '12

Hello Folks, I do not know if my question has been already answered by someone in the forum. Apology for my cross postings. I want to convert my catalogue records (excel form) into marc format. My difficulty is how could I integrate multiple copies of the same book with different accession/barcode into one bib record and its copies information in marc format. Title, author and all associated fields are in separate columns in the xls sheet. Please advise me, how to generate one marc record for multiple copies of the same book with different barcode numbers. by Hossein Nourozi Shad 06 Jun '12

Hi, In our library we have different fine rates weekly wise for late return items. Is that possible in KOHA to apply this rule? Installing Koha on CentOS+cPanel Hosting Server
by Andi Sugandi 05 Jun '12

05 Jun '12

Hi all, Maybe it is a little bit off-topic but perhaps still relevant and will find some clues and answers here. I'm trying to install Koha on VPS/VDS (CentOS) machine hosting server, and the website is ran by cPanel and WHM, but finally i face the Perl version problem there[0]. cPanel only provides Perl 5.8, but Perl module Modern::Perl can only be installed on Perl 5.10 environment[1]. What do you think? Get rid of cPanel and start providing Perl modules based on CentOS environment will simplify the installing process of Koha? Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend! =) [0] http://goo.gl/Sou3r [1] http://goo.gl/5Ufby -- Andi Sugandi.

The .csv >file is attached. The file was not attached. Did you use the default Koha format for dates as YYYY-MM-DD? From the errors, you appear to be using DD/MM/YYYY (but this could just be your sys pref for output.) by Samuel desseaux 05 Jun '12

Hi! I want to link koha to a CAS Server (only for the professionnal side). In the administration tool, it seems to be easy. But, does koha need specific perl modules? I've enabled mod-proxy on apache and add this part in the virtualhost <IfModule mod_proxy.c> ProxyRequests Off <Proxy *> Order Allow,Deny Allow from All AuthName "Acces Koha" AuthType CAS Require valid-user ***** * * * </Proxy> Beste regards samuel

Unable to input MARC field
by Stew Wilson 05 Jun '12

05 Jun '12

Hi Everyone, I'm very much a Koha newbie, so sorry if it's a silly question: I have made myself a customised MARC framework. During this process I accidentally deleted tag 260. So I added it again as a new tag and just copied the details from the default framework. So now when I go into the edit record screen of a book I can see tag 260, but I can't add any information to it. I can see a cursor in each subfield, but I can't type anything into it. I guess this is something to do with authorities, but sadly I have no idea if this is true, or how to fix it. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction? Cheers, Stew

sort by Popularity
by Howell, Lynda 04 Jun '12

Can anyone explain the basis for the sort by "Popularity" in the Koha OPAC? Is it based on checkout frequency? # of copies owned? User ratings? ...? Thanks! I'm including the Koha list in my reply since the conversation started there and this information might be useful to others. According to version control the browse feature should be in 3.6.1, but the system preference wasn't added until 3.6.5. So you should have the feature but you won't be able to turn it off until you upgrade. You're on 3.6.1 but you don't see the browse feature on OPAC detail pages? -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
