Hi For the <principal_name></principal_name>, try using the format <principla_name>%s@yourdomain</principal_name>. Most of your mapping of koha to ldap have syntax error. I don't know if that's a typo or ....include your LDAP parameters or the values that are mapped to Koha fields in double quotes. Look at the this linkhttp://perldoc.koha-community.org/C4/Auth_with_ldap.html for detailed information on the configuration. ----- Original Message ----- From: "koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz" <koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Cc: Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2012 7:46 PM Subject: Koha Digest, Vol 79, Issue 51 Send Koha mailing list submissions to koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to koha-request(a)lists.katipo.co.nz You can reach the person managing the list at koha-owner(a)lists.katipo.co.nz When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Koha digest..." I also checked the spam folder for Gmail, but nothing > was in there (apart from spam, of course). Not sure if you're trolling but I'll assume not. Yahoo and AOL are about the only spam filters worse than Google. Hotmail/WinLive is also a poor service. All of them reject spam without telling you or giving you any way to check for it - the spam folder is only a small fraction of it. Yahoo even deploys countermeasures against sending servers, even for erroneous spam detections, which is just rude. I think the wiki just gives up if email is rejected (after all, what can it do?). I'm not sure what to recommend. I use various mailboxes from my co-op ISPs, so don't have much call to use free webmails at the mo. Anyone got one they know works with the wiki, please? Message-ID: <1338388207642-5714544.post(a)n5.nabble.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Greetings, I need some help with a problem I've encountered in the circulation rules. About six months ago I set a global due date for May 17, the end of the semester. Since then, we've updated Koha a couple times, and I can no longer find the page where I set the global due date. (From my reading, it appears that this feature has been replaced with circ rules?) The system is still maintaining the May 17 due date. I'm not sure how to reset this. In the meantime, every time I check out a book, I have to confirm the action and manually create due dates. All books checked out now are immediately overdue I've made sure that there are no hard due dates set in the circulation rules, but this hasn't made any difference. I've read two interpretations of the > law just now: Yeah, that'll be because ico.gov.uk that enforces this law changed their interpretation a day or two before the deadline. They now seem to allow opt-outs, which is utterly wrong and not what the legislation actually says and the last-minute U-turn will have wasted lots of money, but never mind, they're the ones who set the deadline and now they've removed it so we have to live with it! So Piwik (and Google) would comply with the current ICO interpretation of the law if an appropriate warning is displayed, as I understand it. Dear community, I am writing you again for an advice regarding our serials catalog. One of our problems is to generate items for periodicals issues which themselves are holdings. Ian in his response to my first mail mentioned that issues have an option to generate items for themselves at the Subscription level. But we do not know the tool, Can somebody hint us? The second question is about the difficulties with cataloging our newspapers. The fields that are for storing complex serial information, like 853-855, 863-865, 866-868, are absent in koha. What we really need is to display which issues we have and which are missing. Any advises? Regards, Haik.

Koha 3.8 on Debian Squeeze- can't log in to web installer
by mr626 07 Jun '12

Hi all, I have a strange issue that hopefully you can help with. I am testing out Koha on a virtual machine. I am running Debian 6.0.5 64bit and have been following the guide as per here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_3.8_on_Debian_Squeeze Everything works smoothly, up until it is time to log in to the web installer. As per the instructions on the web page, I enter the username and password exactly as it appears in the koha-conf.xml file. The screen flashes briefly and then reloads the web installer log in page- no error is displayed. I have been looking in the relevant logs on the koha server, but I can't see anything obvious there. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Koha-3-8-on-Debian-Squeeze-can-t-log-in-t… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Circulation History in 3.6
by Paul Nielsen 07 Jun '12

07 Jun '12

Hi all, Having recently moved from 3.2 to 3.6.4 we have noticed that borrower number is displayed in the record/item circulation history view instead of name as we had previously. I have poked around and can't see that this is a syspref or other to toggle, can anyone advise if this is an 'improvement' we are stuck with. http://www.skycasters.com/ Rolling Hills Library is attempting to raise funds to purchase a bookmobile, which will use our existing Koha database with remote (Internet) connections. We would also like to provide Internet access via a couple of stations in the van if possible. All this depends on our ability to raise the funds necessary to purchase the bookmobile, but we hope to be able to do that early next spring (2013). 1. Is anyone using such a system currently with Koha? I would be interested in learning from your experiences. 2. I'd like to document our process, from purchase to full usage, as a "lessons learned" for everyone to benefit from. What things would you like to know as I do this? 3. One of the methods of Internet access we will be looking at is Skycaster (link above). Any comments or suggestions on this service? We may also have a mobile wifi hotspot so local access can be provided to users with their own devices. Comment: I am a strong supporter of free, open-source software. It is my intention to run everything in the bookmobile on Linux, probably Mint or Ubuntu. If I can sneak it in, I may try to get some promo lettering on the van somewhere that says "We run Koha and Linux!", and maybe a penguin and the Koha logo. -- Greg Lawson Network Administrator Rolling Hills Consolidated Library 1912 N. Dear all I tried to import a .csv file to my Koha installation (version 3.06.01.000) and got the following errors. I have checked the Branch code and the Category Code. It is give correct in the .csv file. Is there any bug reported in this version regarding patron import. Please help me. The .csv file is attached.
