Re: [Koha] Zebra not updating biblios automatically in koha 3.8

Why would this require a server reboot? Also .bashrc env vars dono't affect cron. If you want to insure that cron env variables are set properly edit that users crontab. *nix != windoze server reboot not usually necessary. When changing .bashrc files all that is required is to logout and log back in. My Koha is down .. Software error?

Hello! I am getting the error below.... We can get into MYSQL from the command line. The Koha database and tables are viewable through MYSQL. I am getting this error on both the OPAC and the server. The file Koha.conf is world readable, owned by root, and has a group of www-data. Software error: Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: NO) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 758. modification log shows incorrect date/time??
by Irakli Garibashvili 03 Sep '12

03 Sep '12

Hi! We use KOHA 3.06 MARC21 version. Modifications log for a record in our catalog (biblio 996) shows following: 5 lines found. Date Librarian Module Action Object Info 2012-07-04 15:41:40 52 CATALOGUING ADD 996 item 2012-07-04 15:41:40 52 CATALOGUING MODIFY 996 $VAR1 = { 'biblioitemnumber' => '595', 'restricted' => undef, 'items.cn_sort' => ..... 2012-07-04 16:04:08 52 CATALOGUING MODIFY 996 $VAR1 = { 'homebranch' => 'arch', 'replacementprice' => undef, 'restricted' => undef, 'BK' }; ..... 2012-08-30 17:22:46 51 CATALOGUING ADD 996 biblio 2012-08-30 17:24:38 51 CATALOGUING MODIFY 996 BEFORE=>LDR 01261nam a22001577a 4500 005 20120830172246.0 008 120830t1957 ge ||||| |||| 00| 0 geo d 080 _a94(479.22)+902 110 1 _9558 _....... I expected that this means that a biblio record was created on 2012-08-30 while an item for it was created on 2012-07-04 (almost two months before, which is obviously impossible). But tracing this record from MySQL tables I realized that the modification log shows in one case (the first 3 lines) item #996 while in another case (2 lower lines) biblio #996 - which is somewhat disorienting to my mind.... Log is showing info for two different object! (in previous version of KOHA object type was indicated clearly - "item 996" or "biblio 996"). Would not be it more logical if a modification log shows modification history of a biblio and all items associated with the same biblio?? problem with fonts
by Haik Zargaryan 03 Sep '12

03 Sep '12

Dear friends, I am writing you again due to our problems with fonts in koha 3.8. When we search for a book in the OPAC the search engine retrieves the record. http://93.187.162.200/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=4 However, when we try to browse the catalog using the author's name as a search keyword (i.e. by clicking on the author name displayed in the record), nothing is found. In the search box, instead of the author's name, some strange symbols appear. http://93.187.162.200/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=au:%C3%94%C2%B9%C3%95%C…, In the previous version of koha we have not encountered such a problem. Any advises? Regards, Haik.

Please be sure to always respond to the list. That other livecd you mention is still almost two years old. Consider using Kyle Hall's virtual appliance (http://kylehall.info/index.php/projects/koha/koha-virtual-appliance/) but be aware that you cannot run Koha without learning to use Linux.
