software error
by BrianEmerson 02 Sep '12

02 Sep '12

Hi All, I'm new to Koha and not very skilled at Ubuntu yet. I'm trying to help out my small town local library by installing the system. I've run through the install and I believe things went well, I've tracked down a few errors and checked that they were corrected, but when I try to access the pages I get the following error: Software error: Access denied for user 'kohaadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 758. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 31. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 31. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-main.pl line 22. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-main.pl line 22. I realize it's probably something simple and I appreciate the help! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/software-error-tp5725101.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Batch item modification problem
by Cab Vinton 31 Aug '12

31 Aug '12

We have a number of items with a status of Withdrawn that we would like to set to "not Withdrawn". The batch item modification tool does not seem to allow this, however, as this means setting the Withdrawn status to null. Anyone have any tips on how this might be accomplished? Zebra not updating biblios automatically in koha 3.8
by sunil sharma 31 Aug '12

31 Aug '12

Dear All, I installed Koha 3.8.02 and also check latest version of koha 3.8.04 on centos 6.2, The same problem I am facing in both of these version. when I enter any new biblio, it is not updated automatically to zebra, I am using zebra latest version 2.0.54 and all cronjobs are set. I also manually check zebra functioning by ./rebuild_zebra.pl -b -a -v -z but it shows export biblios zero, but I already added some bilios to koha yet it shows exported zero. And, when I use ./rebuild_zebra.pl -b -a -v -r then it rebuild all the biblios and my all added biblio shows in result i.e. exported 10 biblios. My question is that why ./rebuild_zebra.pl -b -a -v -z option is not working. where is the problem, because my zebra working fine in 3.6, is there any problem in koha 3.8. or any other issue. Please help me out. Thanx in advance. Sunil

E-book Check Out
by Amber Amland 31 Aug '12

31 Aug '12

Has anyone done anything with e-book check out on Koha? One of the teachers at my school would like to make an e-book available for students to check out on their own. Can a patron log in to the Koha catalog and check out an e-book himself? If so, how do I set this up? We're using Koha version 3.06 on Linux. Thank you! Re: [Koha] Remainder of title not showing up in Koha catalog
by Bob Elgie 31 Aug '12

31 Aug '12

In Koha Digest, Vol 82, Issue 56 David Hartman says: > When my patrons search the Koha OPAC, they see the title but not the > subtitle. All of the "Remainder of title" fields are filled in Cataloging > module but the catalog only displays the title and not the subtitle. Is > there a setting I need to adjust somewhere? What also annoys me is that MARC tag 246 (Varying form of title), while searchable, does not display in OPAC. Ideally, I would like to see this field displayed at least when indicator 2 is 4 (Cover title) or 8 (Spine title) along with its display constant immediately below 245 in OPAC. Much confusion in locating an item on the shelf would be avoided in those situations where 245 and 246 are very different. Bob Elgie
