My +1 to Vimal. A live CD/DVD is the best solution for testing Koha, leave a simple installation to new users for evaluation, and so on. Dear Friends, Many libraries with small collection run on Koha Live CDs. Small libraries (in terms of collection, manpower and money) cant afford online hosting and servers for production purpose. They made use Koha Live CD for the installation on their ordinary PC. I agree that Koha Live CD is not suitable for libraries with big collection and lot of transactions. I know many college libraries in Kerala with above 50000 records successfully running on Koha Live CD. I think they will move to a server when collection become big. Dear Mark Tompsett, I do not agree with your comments on Koha live CD/DVD's. I am using Koha 3.8.2 Live CD released by Mr. Vimal Kumar, it is working fine. Most of the library professionals are may not familiar with Linux to install Koha along with supporting software's. This type of Live CD/DVD's are most useful to easy installation of Linux/Ubuntu & Koha. Regards, Venkat

Dear David, Thank you for your response, I installed Koha couple months back and everything has been working without problem. I installed Koha 3.8 from common package on Debian 6+, I can not think why config-files should disappear from the system. Could it be that the comma in the author name is considered to be a list separator at 'refine search' time? Webserver not working

hi, my web server has stopped working and when I try to stop and restart Apache I get this error message # apachectl stop apache2: Syntax error on line 230 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 5 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/library: Could not open configuration file /etc/koha/apache-shared.conf: No such file or directory Action 'sto and in fact I can not see that file in that folder, so what has happened to that file, I just did backup the other day via sudo koha-dump library do you think this has created any problem?

Dear community, I want to use the *534* (Original Version Note) field in the Default MARC framework. Obviously, the framework already includes it, so I do not need to add it. But the problem is that when I am creating a new record the *534* field is not visible. Maybe I should somehow activate it or make usable? Regards, Haik.
