Hi Yasan. I want to know list of accession numbers/barcode that are not in the > database. **** > > ** ** > > Eg. I have barcodes 25, 26, 29, 30, 45, 49 .etc. I want to list those > numbers that are not used in the database, so that I could find the books > to be entered in the database. In my earlier library software I had an > option generate list of unused accession numbers. By this I will know those > accession numbers are not in the database. **** > > ** ** > > Can we generate a list like this in KOHA SQL Reports?**** > My understanding is that you want a report that lists items where there is no barcode for the record. There is not a standard report in Koha to do this. However, it is possible by creating your own custom report. I'm not very familiar with creating Koha SQL reports. Tools to help you create a custom report: - Nicole has produced some videos on creating reports (some are for earlier versions, but they are still relevant): http://bywatersolutions.com/?cat=56&s=report - The manual has a great section on writing custom reports: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/reports.html - The Koha database schema: http://schema.koha-community.org/index.html - The Koha SQL reports library: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library I would suggest you try and create a report using some of the above material. If you can't get a report to work properly - post it back to the list along with the error message or problem, and the version of Koha you are using. Someone more familiar with SQL reports maybe able to help you identify the problem/point you in the right direction. If you are really lucky someone may have already created such a report and can share it with you. Barcode - Gaps
by Chief Librarian, SAIACS 23 Oct '12

23 Oct '12

Dear Colleagues, I do not know if the question has been answered in the koha list. However I want to know if there is a SQL script to find the missing barcodes or accession numbers in the database. As I have done bulk import and I would like to find accession/barcode number gaps, so that I would fill the gaps. You just need to create a "new collection code" in Administration > Authorized values, then clic select "Authorized values" and CCODE... and in the add ITEM part of your record select from the pull-down menu the one (or another) you define. Saludos, FAOA

All items say new.
by Estel Porras 22 Oct '12

22 Oct '12

Hello, just a question. We changed over to Koha in May of 2011. For the most part everything is going fine. The bothersome part is everything is listed as "new". Example: New-FIC New-ANF New-BIO New-MAG Is there anything I can do about this? Do I have to submit a bug? It isn't catastrophic, but very bothersome. The other thing is how can I add a collection code. We do not have a code for a few items, such as Juv Bio and DVDs. I have checked the manual and can't find out how to do this. Tried going into authorities, feeling this would be my best shot..Can't find it. Any help greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful week. Re: [Koha] Problems with Koha mail notifications
by Melia Meggs 22 Oct '12

22 Oct '12

Hi, > The check in and check out email notifications are not sent out at all. Patrons can choose whether they want to receive checkin or checkout emails. Have you checked to make sure that you have some patrons who have elected to receive checkin/checkout emails in their messaging preferences? If you look at the patron record, under "Patron messaging preferences" the boxes under "Email" and beside "Item checkout" and "Item checkin" need to be checked there. > The due reminder, overdue, and adcanced notice notifications are sent; but > the fields are blank What does your notice text look like? If your notices use <<items.content>> then you also need to set up the cron jobs accordingly. Here is a post that might help you get the correct notice text: http://bywatersolutions.com/2012/04/13/putting-item-information-into-notice… And here is a link to the relevant section of the Koha manual: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/tools.html#notices You can find an example of correct overdue notice markup here. If you go to Tools > Notices & Slips and copy/paste the message body of your notice into this email, then we could help you correct it! Thanks, Melia

Re: [Koha] Some thoughts about an »official« Koha LiveCD
by Vimal Kumar V. 22 Oct '12

22 Oct '12

Dear Friends, I posted the same in Koha-devel list. Thank you for your suggestions on Live CD/DVD. I started to work for Live CD/DVD. In my experience Remastersys is the right tool to make Live CD/DVD. It has provision to make ISO in backup mode. So we can include user account and related files too. Remastersys with Ubuntu 12.04 is successful. Both live mode and installer are working well. I started with Ubuntu 12.04 ISO image. One problem with size of the CD/DVD. I removed many heavy applications like Libreoffice etc. Even though it size about 800 MB. I strictly followed the instructions from following link to install Koha, http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_ubuntu_-_packages I found that Z39.50 does not download records. When try to search records from z39.50 servers, it says Try another search. Anybody noticed this problem with 3.8.5? We have to solve this problem. Koha CD/DVD should be easy to use. We have to think about Koha newbies in mind when making CD/DVD. I am preparing for a family tour and I return only on October 24. So I am little bit hurry and have to started to prepare bag packs. I would like to put forward more ideas from your side to improve the live CD. Regards -- Vimal Kumar V.
