Hello everyone, How can i set koha to disable the patrons with expired account from renewing any library material in such an account, I noticed that this is making the fine.pl to double charge on such materials when they are renewed when the patrons account has expired. thanks

3.8 manual as a single PDF?
by Steve Campbell 17 Oct '12

17 Oct '12

On the Koha Community Documentation web page (http://koha-community.org/documentation/) one can retrieve the full version 3.2 manual as a single PDF. I have found this handy for global searches of the manual. Does anyone have a link to a similar full PDF for version 3.8? Thanks. Steve Campbell Converse Free Library Lyme, New Hampshire US

> Please check any way to include subscription fee details in circulation > rules. When you create a patron category one of the options is to specify an enrollment fee. It sounds like that is what you're looking for: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/patscirc.html#patcats -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org

Re: [Koha] notifying patrons about holds
by Melia Meggs 16 Oct '12

Hi Karen, Yes, Koha has a HOLD notice that is emailed to patrons when their hold is available for pickup. The patron has to choose to receive the "Hold Filled" notice in his/her messaging preferences. If you can email me (off list) the name of the patron that you think should have received a hold filled email but didn't, then I can investigate this further for you. Thanks, Melia -- Melia Meggs Chief Operations Officer ByWater Solutions bywatersolutions.com

notifying patrons about holds
by Kohn, Karen 16 Oct '12

Hello, I just got a note from a student worker who oversees circulation with a question about holds. She said, "Question: in Koha we are able to place books on hold so the patron should get an email when the book is checked in and placed on the hold shelf, but this system doesn't actually work." I didn't think Koha was supposed to email the patron automatically that their hold was available. I checked the manual at koha-community.org, and it also didn't sound like there were automatic emails being generated. Can someone confirm this? Thanks. -- *Karen Kohn* Collection Development Manager Education and Sociology Librarian Landman Library Arcadia University 450 S. Easton Road Glenside, PA 19038 ph: 215-572-8528 fax: 215-572-0240
