Hi I have a problem while installing koha on a machine (i install with debian package) I have this message "ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/*mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)" What i don't understand is >mysql well running $ service mysql status /usr/bin/mysqladmin Ver 8.42 Distrib 5.1.49, for debian-linux-gnu on x86_64 Copyright 2000-2008 MySQL AB, 2008 Sun Microsystems, Inc. This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are welcome to modify and redistribute it under the GPL license Server version 5.1.49-3 Protocol version 10 Connection Localhost via UNIX socket UNIX socket /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock Uptime: 2 min 12 sec Threads: 2 Questions: 842 Slow queries: 0 Opens: 135 Flush tables: 1 Open tables: 32 Queries per second avg: 6.378. >no problem when i restart $ service mysql restart Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld. Starting MySQL database server: mysqld. Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables.. But, the problem could come from that $locate libmysqlclient.so /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.16 /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.16.0.0 As the debian package include mysql-server5.1, there may be a conflict. Urgent reindexing problem

Search does not return a specific title

Hi all, This might just have to do with the way Koha operates, but we have a book here with the very (annoyingly?) short title "Lit!" (by Tony Reinke, ISBN9781433522260 if you are interested) If we search for "Lit" it will return all results wherever "Lit" is used, like Literature, little children etc. "Lit!" is also in that list. If we search for "Lit!" however, we get no results found. We are getting either too many results (everything including lit somewhere) or none at all. It is in the system, but just hard to find. Any ideas how to solve it or get around it? Thanks, Marty

But YAZ' iconv utility also implements conversions on its own" (as per http://www.indexdata.com/yaz/doc/yaz.pdf and http://www.gnu.org/savannah-checkouts/gnu/libiconv/documentation/libiconv-1. 13/iconv.1.html). In other words, besides marc8, marc8s, marc8lossy, marc8lossless, utf8, iso8859-1, iso5426, iso5428:1984, advancegreek and danmarc, encodings that it natively supports, YAZ is supposed to be able to handle all the encodings supported by iconv. In debian at least, the list of encodings that YAZ supports (fully or partially) is enormous: iconv -l The following list contain all the coded character sets known. Hello all, we are using koha 3.8. when we add new records to koha, the personal name text box is not enabled in 100a tag. is there a way to enable or how do we add personal author name. The same problem for adding series statement i.e 440a, Subject add enty personal name 600a, & add entry for personal name 700a, Dagne Woldie ICS library Addis Ababa
