Dear All Greetings from the GIPE Library! On occasion of Dr S R Ranganathan's Birth Anniversary, we are organising a 'National level workshop on Library Automation using Koha Open Source Software' from 09 – 11 Aug 2013. Koha : It is the First Open-Source Web-based Integrated Library System (ILS) with a SQL database backend that includes modules for Circulation, Cataloging, Acquisitions, Serials, Patron (Member) management, Library Branch relationships, and many more features. Koha is built using international library standards and protocols that ensure interoperability between Koha and other systems. It supports technologies like cataloging data stored in MARC and accessible via Z39.50 and also supports existing work-flows and tools. Koha has most of the features that would be expected in an ILS, Purpose of this workshop : To provide hands-on training to library professionals by providing adequate practical knowledge which will enable to automate the libraries on their own by using Koha. The workshop also will be useful to those who wish to migrate to Koha. Workshop comprises of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training using Koha software in detail. Each participant will be provided with a dedicated machine. Resource Persons: Dr Nanaji Shewale Dr Sunita Barve Mr Pramod N Joshi Target Participants: Library and information Science professionals with working knowledge of Information Technology. Number of participants is limited to 30 only. The participants will be selected on first come first served basis. Registration fees: Rs. 2000/- Only Registration Fees includes Workshop Kit on CD-ROM (LiveLive CD with LUbuntu 12.4 LTS, Koha 3.10.1, Drupal 7.20 and DSpace 3.0) and working Lunch and Tea / Coffee. Accommodation at GIPE Guest House is available on payment (A/C Rs. 500/- per day. Non A/C Rs. 300/- per Day). Registration Fees is to be paid by cash or Demand Draft / Cheque drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics payable at Pune and must reach the workshop coordinator on or before 05 Aug 2013. Koha CSV Reports

Colleagues, Anybody who knows how to go around a CSV problem; where barcodes (and or some fields) downloaded as CSV report in Koha is automatically transformed into dates by the spreadsheet application (Using Ms Excel 2007). additional languages error

Hi list. Recently I have installed Koha 3.12.01 Tarball on Ubuntu 12.04 After adding additional languages such as Armenian hy-Armn. We noticed that in > More > Cataloging the languages changed from English into Armenian (and we saw it in the source): ******************* <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="hy-Armn"> <head> <title>Կոհա &rsaquo; Քարտագրում</title> <script type="text/javascript"> var GB_ROOT_DIR = "/intranet-tmpl/prog/hy-Armn/lib/greybox/"; </script> ***************************** But the language didn't change in > More > Administration It showed this page only in English, and the source showed us that the languages didn't change ******************************* <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> Why didn't Koha change languages in some pages? We have noticed the same problem in different versions 3.10.05, 3.12. How can we solve this problem? Please answer because it is very important for us Best regards Araik.

To set ACQ biblio not searchable in Opac

Hi to all, working with ACQ, the bibliographic record is creates when I place the order in the basket. In fact I want that patrons don't see the new bibliographic record in the Opac until the copy is arrived and I have finished to catalogue it. I think that I can setup tag 942 in ACQ framework with a specific string like 'ON_ORDER' and I insert the limit 'NOT ON_ORDER' to every search with an Apache enviroment variable. During catalog I will change the 942 to the specif material (Book, Serial, etc.). Do you have test a similiar trick ? If you use ACQ, do you show biblio to users before full cataloging them ? Is the required Perl modules list from INSTALL.fedora7 <http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=blob;f=INSTALL.fedora7;h…> (Section 3.6.1 starting around Line 740) an accurate list? I am planning to install Koha on (Mac) OS X Server 10.8 Mountain Lion and it comes with quite a number of Perl modules installed. Using Catalogue / OPAC module only

I intend to setup up a catalogue / OPAC only library consisting of links to electronic resources such as audio files and scanned images - no physical copies at all - with entries entered by several organisations. Basically, I need to build a library of searchable bibliographical records for these media via OPAC as well as providing via z39.50. I am thinking of treating each organisations as library branches where an individual or two from each organisations will maintain their own catalogue while I will be acting as the HQ Library to oversee all the catalogues. There won't be any acquisition, borrowing, etc. except for Catalogue and OPAC. Duplicates record are generated while importing books data

Hi guys, i have generated mrc file of my books data using marcedit software. when i import books in koha using this mrc file, it show for(eg 400 records found and imported) but it also shows (800 items found and imported) which is excatly duplicate number of actual records. And in total duplicate records are generated in koha system. Now one thing i found was that if i dont add marc 952$o tag for my koha fullcallnumber (which is ddc+/+3 letter of author name) in my marc file than it uploads proper 400 items. Also if i remove this 952$o marc21 field from marc file than i cant see call number in koha UI interface. FW: Search engine configuration error

We have 3 servers of Koha (3.10,3.12, 3.12.01) on Ubuntu 12.04 We have some problem (on the 3 servers) when clicking Search engine configuration in System preferences.It brings such error : ****************************** Software error: `Koha::SearchEngine::::Config' is not a module name ***************************************************** Any suggestions?
