-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Error of fine and -d parameter Date: Sun, 28 Jul 2013 11:05:27 +0500 From: Saira Asghar <saira.asghar23(a)gmail.com> To: koha-owner(a)lists.katipo.co.nz Hello I installed latest version of koha 3.12 on Ubuntu. Every thing is fine except the following issues 1: Database is by default claiming fine 5 rupees to every patron at checkout while it is not mention in any system preferences and circulation rules 2: I am importing MARC records in database through these command lines in terminal cd /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools perl bulkmarcimport.pl <http://bulkmarcimport.pl/> -d -commit 1000 -file /home/koha/marcfilename.mrc Records are successfully uploading in database but *-d* parameter is not working. this parameter is used for deleting existing records before uploading new file. It shows in results of above command line that *deleting biblios ... *but**all previous records remain in database Please send solution for both these issues. I shall be very thankful -- *Regards* Saira Asghar Librarian Namal College, 30-Kilometer Talagang Road, Mianwali, Pakistan. koha opac error log 2
by schnydszch 28 Jul '13

28 Jul '13

Good day all! This post is related to my previous post: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/koha-error-log-td5762696.html Again, this comes up in my opac error log in /var/log/koha/instancename/opac-error-log: opac-suggestions.pl: Use of uninitialized value $borrowernumber in numeric eq (==) This again occupies substantial amount of my meager hard drive space which I have to delete every now and then. What does this mean and how do I prevent it? Install on Precise (ubuntu 12.04)
by L.W.Johnstone 28 Jul '13

Hi Guys, I have been running a virtual machine and trying to install Koha for testing purposes... I have noted the following problems with the instructions for ubuntu... buildessentials must be install before doing any installs within perl. I am wondering if there some more packages which must be installed in ubuntu before actually proceeding to to the set up of Koha, because i have the following parts which will not install within perl... 1. Net::Z3950::ZOOM 2. PDF::API2::Simple 3. XML::LibXML 4. XML::LibXSLT Now, in the two latter cases I have installed libxml2-dev and libxslt1-dev I suspect there are other packages which are not apparent from the names shown above... please let me know what they are. :( regards, les -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Install-on-Precise-ubuntu-12-04-tp5762697… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

koha error log
by schnydszch 27 Jul '13

27 Jul '13

Hello koha users & developers. I have Koha 3.12.x installed in debian 6.x. This thing is bothering my server for quite some time. I just recently added in collection codes for our catalog, so only those new items have there collection codes. I'm getting the following error in /var/log/koha/../opac-error log: opac-detail.pl: Use of uninitialized value $ccode in exists at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-detail.pl line 568. This repeats I think for all my items. So this is in error log and occupy a lot in my server. So, I have to delete this error log in order to free up space in my server, I think for every search that is happening in my opac, it logs all items that has no collection code in the error log? Now, my question is how do I prevent this except from adding collection code on this items since I don't know yet what collection code to use in my present catalog. I'm thinking of automating the deletion of this error log, but I might mess up. Right now, I'm doing the deleting manually. And it's kind of a daunting task checking every now and then if my server is growing bigger because of this. Thank you in advance and cheers! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/koha-error-log-tp5762696.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Set permissions: cataloguer need the privilege to upload book jacket
by Vimal Kumar V. 26 Jul '13

Dear Friends, In our library, we careated staff user (working in periodical section) and given privilege to access serials and cataloguing module. She want to add journal cover image (helpful to identify journal) in serials biblio. She can create and edit biblio, but not able to upload cover images. But a super user can upload book jacket. Privilege for uoload cover image is essential for a user who has access on cataloguing module. Regards, -- Vimal Kumar V.
