Hello Members, I keep getting error on koha whenever i add new record, Btw, i have checked my marc framework structure and it is all OK! Not sure what else could be the problem. Data Input tool in multiple Indian Languages for cataloguing

Dear All, Please find here link to install the data input tools in many Indian language, It is provided by the Google, so you just input data in English as you speak in local language and it will convert it in your language script (Hindi, bengali,odiya etc.). You also need not to connected with Internet. I have tested this tool for cataloging of books in Hindi in KOHA software and it works fine. Dear Friend, Please check leader field in ur cataloguing frame work is enabled or not. If it hidden, enable it. Export of bibliographic records

Hello all, I have run into a problem: When using the Koha tool to export all bibliographic records it doesn't export them all. We only get a subset with about 100,000 bibliographic records missing. I haven't been able to determine what is causing this or how to fix it. Has anyone had this problem? How did you get a complete set of bibliographic records? KohaCon 13 Update Here Instead of Calling an IRC Meeting.

Hi everyone. It's time to think about registering for KohaCon 13 in Reno, Nevada, this October. We have 84 people registered so far. If you are planning to come, please register and have your room reserved before Sept. 15th. We are getting some support, and we will have a page listing those who have given some financial help to the conference. The program is set and I will begin working on getting it ready for printing. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon13_Program I visited Lake Tahoe two weeks ago and took a cruise on the Tahoe Queen paddle-wheeler. It holds about 300 people and the cruise lasts for 2 ½ hours. I am putting together a mail group of the people who have registered, so that I can send out regular information directly to them. The weather here has been over 100 degrees F, or 37.7 degrees C (hot) all week, and we have had some thunderstorms. We don't always get rain, but we get lightening, so we have had a few fires. Text::Unaccent perl module make test error

I have finally hand-compiled all required Perl Modules for koha, except for Graphics::Magick (GM) and Text::Unaccent (TU), on OS X Server 10.8. The reason I don't use CPAN is that OS X 10.8 uses Perl in some of its operation plus a OS Software Update will most probably wipe off CPAN modifications. GM has problem with one test file (t/montage.t) while it passes the rest of the tests. I am in communication with the GM list to resolve that particular problem. As for TU, I can't find any list to search for an answer. TU's "perl Makefile.PL" has no issue; "make" gives me 2 warnings each when compiling both Unaccent.c and unac.c. Search Results Ordering

Looking at our search results, it seems like they ordered entirely by biblio number. That's kinda... bad. Is there a way to get more relevant ordering of results? Problems with Zebra index

Hi Koha community, I am new to Koha and have spent the last week with trying to feed the Zebra index with our bibliographic records. This turned out to be pretty difficult. I have successfully imported our records (about 600.000) to the Koha database. Then I tried to use rebuild_zebra.pl to put the records into the index. This failed due to disk space reasons: I have 100 GB disk space reserved for the Zebra index (mounted on /var/lib/koha) and have split this space in zebra config into 45 GB for the shadow directory and 45 GB for the register directory. This was not sufficient, which I think is a little bit weired, because I think 600.000 records should not take so much space... So, my first question: is that normal? Does Zebra need so much disk space for the index? What are the directories register and shadow exactly for? Next try was indexing with rebuild_zebra_sliced.sh. I used the default value of 10000 for the chunks. First I got an error, I guess because a configuration value was not set properly (the script did not find index_mode; so I set it manually to "dom", which I guessed should be the correct value for indexing marcxml). After fixing that manually, I succeeded to split my export file into 59 10000-record-chunks. I tried to index the first two chunks and that seemed to work without problems for the first chunk (but it finished very fast, which made me wonder if Koha really did something - I just realized, that the marcxml file was not valid - but why didn't I get an error?). For the second chunk, there were two messages (unfortunaltely I cannot recall them). This is the command I used to do that: zebraidx -c /etc/koha/sites/koha/zebra-biblios.cfg -v none,fatal,warn -g marcxml -d biblios update /tmp/rebuild/export/biblio/exported_records_1000001 But now, when I search in the Koha opac for an "e" for example, I still get no results. Though the index seems to be empty, but actually there are files in /var/lib/koha/koha/biblio/shadow. Is there a way to look into the Zebra index directly? I have no idea where to look next. Does anybody have any hint about that? Any help would be appreciated.
