Koha as a federated library

Dear Colleagues, I am setting up a federated library system using koha where each of the libraries needs to have its own look and feel and also should be able to search its own collection and also be able to search the collection of the other libraries in the federation by the users choice. I have also integrated koha into a CMS "joomla" in order to handle non koha pages. In my koha set up I have created the different libraries as branches and activitated the IndependantBranches preference in koha. You can see this at http://koha.apkn.org (koha in Joomla) or http://koha.apkn.org:81 (Koha pure) or http://koha.apkn.org:81/cgi-bin/koha/opac-mainug.pl and http://koha.apkn.org:81/cgi-bin/koha/opac-mainke.pl (Independent libraries). However, I am not sure whether this is the right way to set up federated libraries using koha. Could someone kindly advise me about the right way to set up federated libraries using koha? It shows in results of above command line that *deleting biblios ... *but**all previous records remain in database Please send solution for both these issues. This post is related to my previous post: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/koha-error-log-td5762696.html Again, this comes up in my opac error log in /var/log/koha/instancename/opac-error-log: opac-suggestions.pl: Use of uninitialized value $borrowernumber in numeric eq (==) This again occupies substantial amount of my meager hard drive space which I have to delete every now and then. What does this mean and how do I prevent it? Install on Precise (ubuntu 12.04)

Hi Guys, I have been running a virtual machine and trying to install Koha for testing purposes... I have noted the following problems with the instructions for ubuntu... buildessentials must be install before doing any installs within perl. I am wondering if there some more packages which must be installed in ubuntu before actually proceeding to to the set up of Koha, because i have the following parts which will not install within perl... 1. Net::Z3950::ZOOM 2. PDF::API2::Simple 3. XML::LibXML 4. koha error log

Hello koha users & developers. I have Koha 3.12.x installed in debian 6.x. This thing is bothering my server for quite some time. I just recently added in collection codes for our catalog, so only those new items have there collection codes. I'm getting the following error in /var/log/koha/../opac-error log: opac-detail.pl: Use of uninitialized value $ccode in exists at /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-detail.pl line 568. This repeats I think for all my items. So this is in error log and occupy a lot in my server. So, I have to delete this error log in order to free up space in my server, I think for every search that is happening in my opac, it logs all items that has no collection code in the error log? Now, my question is how do I prevent this except from adding collection code on this items since I don't know yet what collection code to use in my present catalog. I'm thinking of automating the deletion of this error log, but I might mess up. Right now, I'm doing the deleting manually. And it's kind of a daunting task checking every now and then if my server is growing bigger because of this. Koha 3.12 hold policy doesn't prevenet renewal

Hi all While renewing a book on hold it doesn't prevent renewal or alert regarding the hold. Kindly note that while check in the book on hold no alert is displayed. The problem appeared after upgrading from 3.10 to 3.12.0. Please help solve this problem. Jamsheer N P University of Calicut India
