Koha, HTML5 and youtube videos
by schnydszch 20 Oct '13

Hi all! This new feature in Koha 3.12 being able to embed media files, is it possible with youtube videos, I'm trying it out but I can not make it work. The sample data from here: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/attachment.cgi?id=11056 worked since the format is video/ogg. My question is 1) what is the format for youtube videos? and 2) are you tube videos supported? author 1=100$a author 2=600$a author 3=700$a author 4=245$c author 5=245$c author 6=245$c 245$c contains information 3 author For example: $ 245 a communication english / $ 245 c Vo Thanh Tung, Yen Hoang, Dang Nhat Dung... Somewhat Authorities in Koha, so-called authorship, authors could describe the items 4 and 5, but it describes much more information about the author of the document elements such as the cataloging normal -- Regards Thuỷ

Re: [Koha] Switching from Other Library Software to Koha
by Ben Doughney 17 Oct '13

17 Oct '13

Hi all, I have managed to get into the FireBird database back end of our existing AccessIt library catalog and export all of the data as a CSV file. Now I am trying to use MarcEdit to convert the CSV file into Marc records so that it can be imported into Koha. I have imported the resulting file into Koha, and it looks reasonably good for a first effort, except for when I view one of the items imported, Koha tells me that there are no physical items for the record. I suspect I have not quite got the mapping right between the CSV file fields and Marc file fields. Is there any howto on this sort of thing- especially for a non-librarian like me as most of the librarian terms go straight over my head! ;-) Also, what field should our 'internal' barcodes be mapped to so that we can use the same barcode number as what already exists in AccessIt? biblio records without items and location
by schnydszch 16 Oct '13

16 Oct '13

Hi all! Is it possible especially with newer versions of Koha that bibliographic records that does not have accession nos./barcode can still have location data? This is for a union catalog that does not care on accession nos./barcode of books but only on the availability of certain titles. Thank you in advance! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/biblio-records-without-items-and-location… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Looking to Query Indicators
by Nicole Engard 16 Oct '13

16 Oct '13

Hi all, Anyone know if there is a way to query a marc field based on the indicator value. I have this report (which works): select b.title, b.author, ExtractValue(m.marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="521"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') AS lexile from biblio b left join biblioitems m using (biblionumber) where ExtractValue(m.marcxml,'//datafield[@tag="521"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') between <<Lexile between>> and <<and>> But I want to only query 521s that have a 8# in the indicators. My report will find all of the below: 521 2# - TARGET AUDIENCE NOTE Target audience note 4-8. 521 0# - TARGET AUDIENCE NOTE Target audience note 8.8. 521 8# - TARGET AUDIENCE NOTE Target audience note 1150 But I only want the last one. Message from import of records
by Tim Skeers 15 Oct '13

We are running version 3.10.09.000. In the summary table after an import, I had a line that was "number of items ignored because of duplicate barcode: 1". Is there a way to see what the barcode is? Or for that matter, if it came back with ignored bib records, etc.? The reports library has a lot of item reports, but none that seemed to fit that exactly.
