Hi, i am getting problem in installation of koha on 64-bit debian os. i am getting following message: useradmin# *apt-get install koha-common* Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package koha-common and for command * apt-get update* the last sentence i am getting is useradmin# *apt-get update* W: Failed to fetch http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/dists/sqeeze/main/binary-amd64/Packag… 404 Not Found could anybody help.. Tune Koha to enable precise regional language searching

Dear Friends, Here are the steps to tune Koha to search Indian languages precisely. I tried these steps on Koha 3.12.x installation based on Debian packages. I borrowed these steps from Koustubha Kale posting ( http://tinyurl.com/kza7l84) in Koha Discussion forum. I made slight changes in the instructions. Lets start tuning... Open a terminal and apply following commands one by one. Install additional packages sudo su apt-get install libicu-dev yaz-icu Copy few files to a new location cd /usr/share/idzebra-2.0/tab/ cp icu.idx phrases-icu.xml string.chr words-icu.xml /etc/koha/zebradb/etc/ cp /etc/koha/zebradb/etc/words-icu.xml /etc/koha/zebradb/etc/icu.xml Folder ownership sudo chown -R library-koha:library-koha /etc/koha/zebradb/etc gedit /etc/koha/sites/library/zebra-biblios.cfg add line at the bottom of the file, index: icu.idx Restart zebra server sudo su koha-restart-zebra library Rebuild zebra index sudo koha-rebuild-zebra -f -v library Turn Off Home → Administration > System Preferences > Searching > QueryFuzzy -- Vimal Kumar V. Eventuellement cela pourrait être bien de redire aux acquéreurs de faire attention à ça. Je te repréviendrai quand le nettoyage sera fini. Git vs. Released versions - preferences?

I'm starting to work through a new install of Koha for a new site. Up until now, I've only installed and upgraded from the released versions. But I'm wondering if I would be better off installing from the git repositories. What are people using if they only plan to install fully released versions. Is there an advantage to installing from the git repository if we won't be looking for the latest patches? Are upgrades made easier if git is used? Dear Community, We have some troubles ih Koha 3.12.05 When we do search in <http://93.187.162.200/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?&limit=mc-itype,phr:CR&of fset=180&sort_by=relevance> http://93.187.162.200/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?&limit=mc-itype,phr:CR&off set=180&sort_by=relevance we cannot see records in some rows (eg. row 14, 21, 22, :) It brings such error: Can't call method "raw" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 490. How it can be solved? Thanks

How in koha

I automated a library using koha 3.12. In my system, I created an -extended patron attribute- called <ID> that holds students' ID Number and checked to be Unique identifier. But while I insert or import patrons from a .csv file; **when I assign value for The <patron attribute> field in the .Csv (like ID:xxxx), it works well so prevents entering different patrons with similar ID (well). **when entering a patron with no value for the ID, it simply enters the patron so entering of so many patrons with null value for their ID (failed). so, how to make koha prevent the entrance of null value for a "unique patron attribute" like ID in my case?

Branchcode Error

I am hoping someone can help me fix this problem with our system. I am a volunteer librarian at a small elementary school that switched to Koha about a year and a half ago. I really have no support and have been trying to fix this problem for a while but cannot figure it out. Many of the books in our system come up with this error when they are checked out: Software error: C4::Calendar->new(branchcode => $branchcode) at/usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Circulation.pm line 2722 I think that I have isolated it to books that under the item view do not show a current location. Other books show the current location as the school name. However, when I go to edit items, it does show the school name there, so I don't see where I can edit this. This seems to be about 50% of the books in the library! If there is another way I can edit item location, please let me know.
