How to keep subfields 490$v or 830$v out of authority
by Iming Chan 05 Dec '13

05 Dec '13

Dear all, I'm wondering how to stop subfield $v in MARC 490 or 830 appearing as part of the series title (uniform title) authority? In our previous system, such subfield would not appear in the authority, so identical series titles are grouped together. If subfield $v forms part of the authority entry (as in the case for Koha), then separate entries are created for identical series titles, but with different volume details. I'm manually removing subfield $v details from the Authority, and this is very time consuming and labour-intensive! Your assistance will be much appreciated. "Failed tests" on make test - koha-3.12.07
by Andi Sugandi 04 Dec '13

04 Dec '13

Hi Koha experts, I'm going to upgrade my Koha testing site from 3.12.04 to 3.12.07 on openSUSE 13.1 computer. It's in single install, it only happens in koha 3.12.07: http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/11214074 (make test log) Although the 'make' command goes well: http://goo.gl/yO9L3v And the issue does not happen in openSUSE 12.3. Is it safe to proceed running 'make install'? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. -- Andi Sugandi.

13 videos from KohaCon13 have been uploaded to the Internet Archive. You can see them here: https://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22kohacon13%22 (the site is still indexing so they aren't all showing just yet). I don't know if this is the entire program, but it's all the videos I was given so we'll start there and if there are others that appear I will gladly add them Thanks Nicole

No results found, suggestions - Koha 3.14 OPAC
by Elaine Bradtke 04 Dec '13

We're running 3.12 in production and 3.14 in our test site. I am customizing the page that comes up with no results found by adding in some links to other relevant sites. That works fine. But in our test version of 3.14 there's a line at the bottom of the page that says: "Not what you expected? Check for suggestions" and then after a short pause this changes to: "Sorry, no suggestions." This would be fine if we didn't have a list of suggestions on where else to look, but since we do, it looks a bit odd. I have not been able to find the system preference that controls this behaviour. How do I turn it off, or change the text? -- Elaine Bradtke Data Wrangler VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 (This number is for the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London, England. Hoilday delete function not working in Koha 3.12
by Fung, Hing-Choi 04 Dec '13

I made mistakes in setting the holidays in the calendar under Tool. There is an item for deleting a single holiday. However, After I put a dot in the circle next to the that delete item and saved, there was no reaction. Is there any way to get the deletion done? Or is there any where on the screen has the solution that I have missed? Thanks. Hing-choi

How to add additional Z39.50 encodings
by Zac Craven 04 Dec '13

04 Dec '13

Hello In Koha Z39.50 servers administation I have added a new server and can fetch data from it. However, it is a Japanese server and the encoding should be "EACC". Koha doesn't offer this encoding. If I use "UTF-8" then all the Japanese characters are returned as garbled text like so: 100$1i$^i$si$Si$-i$Ni$Mi$3(B / | $1i%Ri%ci%/i%^i%si%Si%-(B $1i%N(B $1i%Mi%3(B. | hyakumanbiki no neko. I have followed these steps already to set apache/mysql to utf8: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Encoding_and_Character_Sets_in_Koha But I do not see anything in the wiki documentation about adding encodings. This discussion seems related although there is no conclusion/solution: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/fuF7ADPjh9Qi1sG4I7HZ Can anyone please point in the right direction to add EACC, ISO-2022-jp, EUC and other encodings? Thanks, Zac
