Database in specific directory & backup
by Andrea Furin 27 Feb '14

27 Feb '14

hi to all. two questions: 1. is it possible to save the koha database in a specific directory, like in home directory in a second hard drive? 2. for making regular backups is it better to have only one partition in an hard drive (system + data) and create an image file of the hard disk and save it in other storage devices instead of having an hard disk for system and another for data? (i noticed that config files are in different places in system partition) tia andrea furin --

z39.50 search not working
by Shelley & Kurt Kemperman 26 Feb '14

26 Feb '14

A couple weeks ago, I was in the middle of cataloging a stack of books. The z39.50 search function worked for one book and then on the next book, it stopped working and I haven't yet figured it out. I usually use the Library of Congress, Biblios, and Access PA z39.50 sites. The messages I'm getting are: "connection failed to 1x2.loc.gov" and "nothing found". There have been no new security things or firewalls installed (this is a school computer). And it literally happened from one book to the next. Any ideas? Thanks, Shelley

ISBN report
by Kerrie Stevens 26 Feb '14

26 Feb '14

I've searched through the reports site but can't find anything that sounds like it will do what I want. It's a simple report, but I just can't work it out... any help would be very much appreciated. I need a report to list every ISBN in my collection - a simple but very long results list. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to put it into SQL? Thank you for your help, Kerrie

changed the database fron mySQL server but not reflecting in the search result of OPAC
by Babu_koha 26 Feb '14

Hi, Our data has a "," in the data due to that, double quotes has come at the time of data conversion. if we search any string/data result is fine, after that if we click author name with double quotes, *No results found!* is coming. if we click author name *with out double quotes result is fine*. *Actually i deleted the double quotes from the databese by connecting to mysql server from terminal.* then also the old data is reflecting, if i search. my zebra server is in running state. on one of my friend's suggestions i used the following commands: cd /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools ./rebuild_zebra.pl -a -v -b -x -z -run-as-root then i got root@dorlib:/usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools# ./rebuild_zebra.pl -a -v -b -x -z -run-as-rootclear Can't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.14.2 /usr/local/share/perl/5.14.2 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.14 /usr/share/perl/5.14 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at ./rebuild_zebra.pl line 6.
