Hi, Can some one confirm my find. Koha manual 3,14 read: 2.1.5.6.12 itemBarcodeInputFilter Default: Don’t filter Asks: ___ scanned patron barcodes. In fact, at Koha 3.14 staff interface Home › Administration › System preferences Circulation > Interface it read as: itemBarcodeInputFilter scanned item barcodes. Manual is differ from Koha system. Manual said patron, system said item. -- Wishing you all the best. . . . Koha Architecture, difference between OPAC results and SQL Reports
by Andrew Gordon 10 Mar '14

10 Mar '14

Hello All, I have a rather basic question, but something that has been confusing me for a while as a newcomer to using Koha. When I am trying to do some routine data cleaning I regularly find that the OPAC results often differ from the SQL reports results on what I assume to be the same field. One regular offender here is items.location. The items location in the OPAC is different and often more detailed or complete than the value returned in a report, which may often be blank despite there being a value in the OPAC. So my question is, what are the two different ways that values are being pulled for the OPAC results (staff side, mainly) and the SQL Report side, respectively. Or is this an indication that somehow data has not been entered correctly? Additionally, this is PTFS LibLime Academic Koha, I am assuming that it does not differ greatly from vanilla Koha in this respect. As an afterthought, is there a good source of documentation out there that gives a better idea of the internal workings of Koha, the shape of its data architecture and how it renders data across its many views? So far I can only really find end-user UI instructions. Many thanks, Drew ________________________________________ Andrew Gordon, MSI Systems Librarian Center for the History of Medicine and Public Health New York Academy of Medicine 1216 Fifth Avenue New York, NY, 10029 212.822.7324 http://nyamcenterforhistory.org/

Regex backreferences and MARC modification templates in 3.14
by Jason Sherman 10 Mar '14

10 Mar '14

Hi all, I'm pretty pumped about the marc mod templates, but I have one question. Has anyone been able to use regex backreferences? Or more broadly, is anyone using the mod templates to concatenate values? I'm trying to prepend a value to a subfield, but when I look at the modified marc in the staged records list, I keep getting a literal instead of a backreference. Lets say subfield contains the following: some-old-value If I run a move or copy action against it using regex, I would expect the following expression: s/(.+)/some-new-value--$1/ to result in the following output: some-new-value--some-old-value instead, I get: some-new-value--$1 Note: I've also tried using other capture group notation (\1 \g1) instead of the dollar sign and I still get a literal. Thanks! -- Jason Sherman Systems Librarian University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 405.574.1340
