It could be just the way that my email client is formatting characters, but you may have a problem with the " and ' (double and single quote marks.) I read them below as â, â, and â Maybe you used a text editor that allows "curlies" rather than "straights"? CAS Authentication Errors
by Justin Rittenhouse 22 May '14

22 May '14

Hello, We're having issues setting up CAS on a new instance of Koha. We have this working on a 3.6.4 server, but we've implemented 3.14.5 on a new server and can't get it to accept the CAS ticket. The CAS server is returning a valid ticket, but the OPAC displays a (not obvious) error: "Sorry, the CAS login failed." The following two lines appear in koha-opac-error_log: [Wed May 21 15:54:41 2014] [error] [client 10.41.57.78] [Wed May 21 15:54:41 2014] opac-user.pl: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Letters.pm line 220. [Wed May 21 15:54:41 2014] [error] [client 10.41.57.78] [Wed May 21 15:54:41 2014] opac-user.pl: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /usr/local/lib64/perl5/DBI.pm line 2064. We've set up the CAS options to match the 3.6.4 server, and it sends the request to CAS appropriately, but it won't accept the response. Are we missing something? notes or statistics of transactions in Circulation
by schnydszch 22 May '14

22 May '14

Hello Koha community! I would like to ask if the feature I'll be mentioning is under development. In the Circulation module, a note or statistics can be attach to circulation transactions. In our library, some bosses ask their staffs to borrow books for them, and these bosses aren't even in the Patron's database of our Koha ILS. I'm thinking I can use the guardian option (parent-child) but these staffs and bosses are both adults, so it's actually awkward. Thus, I'm inquiring if there is development for such. And also, in one of the Koha projects I am currently involved with, they wanted to know if a certain material borrowed for photocopying can be tag such, so this feature on notes/statistics on circulation transactions came up again in my mind. If this feature is off the radar, then I would like to file a bug for this. Thanks and cheers Koha community! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/notes-or-statistics-of-transactions-in-Ci… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Check in check out fields losing focus
by Marty 22 May '14

22 May '14

Koha 3.15.00.029 on Debian Wheezy When checking out items I have to click every time in the check out box, because the focus disappears. This is most irritating. The same happens when I check in items, and it slows me down considerably. The librarians have not killed me yet, but they start looking like they want to. I tried to upgrade to 3.16.00 which runs perfectly fine on my laptop hoping that would solve the problem (I could be wrong of course), but I have missing perl modules I cannot install. I am missing: Data::Pagination HTTPD::Bench::ApacheBench Archive::Extract Test::WWW::Mechanize They all stop at cannot test without successful make. I did some googling and found a post that advised to install libchi-driver-memcached-perl, but that does not work either; The following packages have unmet dependencies: libchi-driver-memcached-perl : Depends: libchi-perl but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. So, now I need some help. Especially to automatically return focus to check in / check out boxes Thanks, Marty

'add basket group' bug in Koha 3.14.6
by schnydszch 22 May '14

22 May '14

Hello Koha community! We were trying out the Acquisitions module of Koha ILS, the version as you can see in subject post is 3.14.6, and is installed in Debian 6.x. Whenever I close a basket wherein we're notified to create a basket group for it with the same name as the Basket name, there is no basket group created. I'm also trying to create a new Basket Group but to no avail. Can anybody confirm this too? Are we missing something? I was able to do this in Koha 3.14.5. Thanks in advance! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/add-basket-group-bug-in-Koha-3-14-6-tp579… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Strange email
by Chrispin Simasiku Sitali 21 May '14

21 May '14

I have just received some strange or rather inappropriate message from Carrie (meetcarrie(a)hotmail.com) soliciting for my "friendship" . Should this be appearing on the mailing list? What should I do on my part to stop this rot or shouldn't people overseeing the mailing list do something? How did this Carrie get on the mailing list in the first place? ***UNCHECKED*** Pictures of libraries running Koha?
by Dan Scott 21 May '14

21 May '14

Hi: I'm giving a few talks in the next couple of months about the schema.orgRDFa integration that Koha offers, and I was hoping I might be able to put together some composite images that show libraries (big and small, around the world) that are now more connected to the web of linked data as a result of that effort. Ideally the pictures would be made available under something like a CC-BY-SA license so that they could be reshared with the appropriate attribution. A set of pictures like this seems like it would be fun and useful to have in general on the koha-community.org site, and I wasn't able to find anything existing along those lines, so perhaps this wouldn't be all about satisfying a nice-to-have for me... That said, if a collection like this already exists, I would greatly appreciate a pointer :) Thanks, Dan

Report help needed
by Elaine Bradtke 21 May '14

I'll admit, I'm the queen of cut and paste. What I don't know about SQL would fill a book. Using a report I already have on hand: SELECT ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code="a"]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="260"]/subfield[@code="a"]'),ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="260"]/subfield[@code="c"]'), monthname(datecreated) AS month, year(datecreated) AS year, biblionumber AS biblionumber FROM biblio LEFT JOIN biblioitems b USING (biblionumber) WHERE datecreated BETWEEN <<Between (yyyy-mm-dd)>> AND <<and (yyyy-mm-dd)>> I tried to add some fields as per a request from one of our staff who would like a rather thorough list of items added to the catalogue within a time frame. SELECT ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“100”]/subfield[@code="a"]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code="a"]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code=“b”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code=“c”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="260"]/subfield[@code="a"]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“773”]/subfield[@code=“t”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“773”]/subfield[@code=“g”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="260"]/subfield[@code=“b”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag="260"]/subfield[@code="c"]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“300”]/subfield[@code=“a”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“020”]/subfield[@code=“a”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=“022”]/subfield[@code=“a”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, monthname(datecreated) AS month, year(datecreated) AS year, biblionumber AS biblionumber FROM biblio LEFT JOIN biblioitems b USING (biblionumber) WHERE datecreated BETWEEN <<Between (yyyy-mm-dd)>> AND <<and (yyyy-mm-dd)>> The first report works.
