Re: [Koha] Crontab - is that one tabs used to open beer cans?

In the absence of a sane plan, I'm going with yours (just kidding -smile). This is a paraphrase from the TV series Red Dwarf and I love to use it whenever I can. Thank you so much for sharing. This will make it much easier for me to get things working in Koha. Although I'll have to do some substitution since Koha was loaded in /etc/koha this is going to help tremendously to recreate the crontab for Koha. From: vishal.patil(a)osslabs.biz To: pponchot(a)live.com Hi Philip, I think you have to set crontab again for this new version. I am using below crontab:PATH=/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbinHOME=/home/koha/koha-dev(config) PERL5LIB=/home/koha/kohaclone(src-code)KOHA_CONF=/home/koha/koha-dev(config)/etc/koha-conf.xmlKOHA_CRON_PATH = /home/koha/kohaclone(src-code)/misc/cronjobs*/1 * * * * $PERL5LIB/misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -z 5 2 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/fines.pl*/15 * * * * $PERL5LIB/misc/cronjobs/process_message_queue.pl10 3 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/advance_notices.pl -c 0 3 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/overdue_notices.pl -t#5 2 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/fines.pl50 * * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/holds/build_holds_queue.pl >/dev/null 2>&1 0 3 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/holds/cancel_expired_holds.pl >/dev/null 2>&1 Hope this will help you. How to stop series title volume enter Authorities
by Iming Chan 07 Jul '14

07 Jul '14

Dear all, I would like to know how to setup, so volume designator (subfield $v) will be ignored when creating new authority for Series Title (MARC 8XX)? At this moment, Koha seems to take the entire heading, including volume designato, when creating new authority. Unfortunately by doing so, you cannot group the same series title together. At this moment, it is a pain that you have to remove volume designator on a new Series Title authority. Once this is done, you can then continue to work on subsequent volumes of the same series! Surely, there must be a way to instruct Koha not to add subfield $v to new Series Title authority automatically! Not to mention that it is not much fun merging 20+ similar Series Titles into one!! ----- Iming Chan Translib Information Service Melbourne, Australia -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/How-to-stop-series-title-volume-enter-Aut… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Koha Cons
by Gyaneshwar Narayan 06 Jul '14

06 Jul '14

Good afternoon May I humbly ask if any of these are still pending in the latest version of Koha? * Fines cannot be set to accrue by hour rather than by day (a useful feature for course reserves in academic libraries) * Additional programming needed (cronjob) for fines. Mode function (handles calculation and accrual of fines) * Not possible to edit bills directly, unless reversing payment * Patron cannot pay fines through OPAC * Partial payment not possible, except by using manual credit feature * Staff client: Method and time of payment not shown * No payment history available in staff client Your assistance will be highly appreciated. Regards.

FYI - our 3.8 mysql dump was "accepted" by MySQL 5.6.16-1~exp1 (Ubuntu) without any apparent problem (we did have FK? timestamp? problems with 5.6.03); however, the dump is *not* backward compatible.
