You must run ./bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r -v -x from usr/share/koha to eliminate the "ghost". It's slightly annoying, but we have got used to it. There are three scenarios that regularly require this intervention: moving an item, deleting a biblio and replacing a record via Z39.50 import. Downside, a few seconds during which all search functions and some write functions fail -- but end result is an improved "proper" database. Best -- Paul

The origin of "Record Matching Rules" ?

Hi ! The so-called "record matching rule" determines the method of comparison of "incoming record" and "existing record" when importing MARC record into Koha. (See "Koha 3.14 Manual (en)", chapter "2. Administration", section "4.7. Record Matching Rules".) But what does "to compare an incoming record against an existing record" mean? Are structure or content of the different subfields of these records compared ? What is it being made for ? In general: what problem arise during import process and is being solved with the help of this rule ? These questions are straight related to work in Koha. For example, what threshold value is better: 100 or 100000 ? Why? What does a threshold depend on? Et cetera. Thank you. Wishes, Gennady

Continued issues with frameworks

So I am still struggling after what seemed like some success with frameworks. I cannot seem to clear warnings for homebranch and holdingbranch not being mapped and with the correct authorised value. I have the following lines in my XML file: tagfield,tagsubfield,liblibrarian,libopac,repeatable,mandatory,kohafield,tab,authorised_value,authtypecode,value_builder,isurl,hidden,frameworkcode,seealso,link,defaultvalue,maxlength 952,a,Permanent location,Permanent Location,0,0,items.homebranch,-1,branches,#,#,0,-5,TIM2,#,#,#,9999 952,b,Current location,Current Location,0,0,items.holdingbranch,-1,branches,#,#,0,-5,TIM2,#,#,#,9999 [The above is a csv extract] This to me shows that items.homebranch and items.holdingbranch are assigned to tag 952 subfields a and b respectively. They are on tab -1, so as to comply with the requirement to have itemnum subfield set to -1 and to have all item fields on the same tab and tag. They also have an authorised_value of branches. I can see that they are mapped under Koha - MARC mapping but still this issue persists. I also have a library created. I previously thought I have fixed it but for the life of me cannot replicate it. Have I totally got the wrong end of the stick here? These are the last two errors I have and would be grateful to have this fixed.
